I can’t think of a better description of motherhood. I know I’m not the perfect mother. Many times I come up short, more often than I care to admit. But I always, always put my children’s happiness and well-being before my own. They are my life. And there is nothing I take more seriously than the job of raising them.
And those mistakes I make? I’ve learned that they’re okay. Children are amazingly resilient. They forgive easily. But they do know when you put them first; they do notice that. And they know when they are loved. So that’s the message I always want to send. That I love them with all my heart. That they are part of me. The best part of me.
May you be blessed with a mother that feels that way about you.
And if you are a mother, may you be honored today for all that you do. For all that you sacrifice, struggle with, give up, cry over, and laugh about.
Happy Mother’s Day!
