Do you watch the Oscars? I must confess I’m a die-hard fan. I’ve been watching it every year as long as I can remember. The whole show is something I look forward to every year, but I especially love what my husband calls the “pre-game show,” otherwise known as the Red Carpet!
And since I’ve been blogging, I’ve made it a tradition to do my take on the Best Dressed actresses of the night. I have to admit, this was not a particularly strong year, wardrobe-wise. Before I sat down to write this, I went back to last year’s post, and I feel like it was definitely a stronger year than this one. There were so many gorgeous ones last year, I had a hard time narrowing it down. And this year, I had a hard time coming up with just eight!
Nonetheless, to honor the tradition, I’ve rounded up the ones I thought were the best this year. So, in no particular order, here are my nominees for Best Dressed at the Oscars….
Allison Williams in Armani Privé. The nude color of this is so lovely, and I’m a sucker for the Old Hollywood hairstyle.
Zoey Deutch wearing Elie Saab. The intricacy of this gown is so gorgeous – I have a feeling this was probably stunning in person!
I’m not normally a fan of yellow, but I do think Greta Gerwig pulls off this colorful Rodarte dress.
A definite personal favorite! Gal Gadot in Givenchy. The necklace accentuates the dress so perfectly!
Helen Mirren looks so elegant in this navy blue dress from Reem Acra. Can you believe she’s 72?! She’s the epitome of chic!
Just stunning! Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior. I love the sparkle, her hair and the long earring.
Another favorite is this white Chanel Haute Couture dress that Margot Robbie wore. It’s on every best-dressed list, and I can see why! Just perfection.
Allison Janney simply glows in this elegant red dress by Reem Acra.
What did you think? Did you watch? Did you have any favorites? I’d love to hear what you thought!

March 6, 2018 at 7:24 pmJanney and Miren by a mile! The yellow colored dress is regrettable. Deutch dress looks like stacked lampshades.Williams dress is gorgeous but she looks as though she needs a transfusion. Someone should have suggested some lip color. Love the cut of Robbie’s dress but the Christmas tree tinsel is just gauche. But to each his own. The older gals hit it out of the park iin my opinion. Even if I don’t like the gowns, I love seeing what everyone wore. I seldom even know the names of the young gals but it’s still fun.

March 6, 2018 at 8:10 pmI think if I had to pick an absolute top winner, it would be Allison Janney! She’s just never looked better.
And I knew the yellow would be controversial, haha, I don’t even usually like it, but I did think she carried it off (I could never wear it though!)
And yes, the older gals really did it this year that’s for sure! They all brought their A-game (Meryl Streep also looked good I thought).
I love looking, and like you, I agree it’s just always fun to see who wears what.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your feed back. I love it!

March 6, 2018 at 8:06 pmOkay, normally I LOVE her style (and I love her!) but I guess I’m not a hot pink person! I liked the dress, I just didn’t like the color but she did look pretty!
Thanks for chiming in!

March 6, 2018 at 7:15 amI think the ladies who rocked it the most were the “older” ladies! Helen Mirren, Allison Janney and Jane Fonda were all stunning and so chic! Inspirational for sure…
