I’m not one to do a lot of decorating for Valentine’s Day, but I do like to do a little something as a nod to the holiday. When the kids were younger, I did much more in terms of decor and gifts. However, this year I wanted to keep it simple while still making it feel festive!
I don’t know about all of you, but my husband and I haven’t dined out on Valentine’s Day in probably fifteen years! That night it is overly crowded, and the food is always expensive. Most years we do a dinner out on another night and a family dinner on Valentine’s Day itself. But this year, it falls on a Thursday which happens to be a night my teens will be out at a weekly function. So I thought, why not do a special dinner at home in our own dining room? Candles, good food, uninterrupted conversation and no crowds or over-priced food – sign me up!
If you follow design trends at all, or peruse Pinterest frequently, I’m sure you’ve seen the trendy patterned tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms. I think I first saw them a couple of years ago, and from that moment on, I was smitten!
Hey everyone – hope you’re all doing well this week! I’ve been so disorganized and discombobulated since the beginning of the year – I literally don’t even know what day it is! Is this a January thing, or is it just me?!
I’m super fired up to re-organize, purge, clean, and putter. But I’m also behind with unpaid bills and stacks of papers on my desk! But, I promised that I would be doing a post all about winter decorating tips, and I’m here to keep that promise!
I’m so excited to share this post with you as it is one of my favorites of the whole year. I’m joining some blogging friends for a very unique tour – the Christmas Nights Tour! Thank you to my friends Kristen of Ella Claire and Courtney of French Country Cottage for putting this tour together this year!
For years I kept bringing out the same Christmas decor, year after year. I never really changed much aside from adding a new ornament here and there. However, now I really relish changing things up a little. It’s amazing how a few new things, an added style, or just a new color can make it all feel so much fresher!
