Happy weekend friends! And what a happy weekend it is. Today it is in the 80s – woot, woot!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am to have some truly warm weather! And how appropriate that I would be sharing some more spring decorating with you today.
Grey and gold has been on the design scene for a few years now, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. In fact, rather than receding, gold and brass tones are hotter than ever!
But what I like about this particular combo is the unexpectedness of it. Until just a few years ago, grey was usually combined with silver tones, like chrome and nickel, even in fashion. It seems every kitchen had silver toned hardware, whether that kitchen was grey, white, or something else. But now, the contrast is so refreshing.
It’s spring! Well, not exactly or officially, haha! But it is March. And we sprung ahead on the clocks this past weekend, so it’s as close as we need to be to decorate!
I know a lot of friends and readers who have asked me about decorating for winter or spring. It seems everyone decorates for the holidays, and that’s kind of straight up and obvious. Everyone gets that one. But winter and spring are another story. Especially when you don’t celebrate Easter, or when Easter is really late, like this year. It’s sometimes hard to figure out what the right balance is. How to do it easily. How not to get too “theme-y.” And how to do it without breaking the bank!
A couple of weeks ago, I shared some early spring decorating in the kitchen. Because spring hadn’t nearly arrived yet, and because Easter was still so far away, it felt a little early to bring out the bunnies at that point. But not now! This week I couldn’t resist bringing out just a few! So today I’m sharing some simple but festive ideas for Easter decorating. I don’t ever want to go too crazy or “themed” with my decor, but it’s such a cheerful season that I love bringing a touch into the house each year.
As promised, I’m back today with another spring post. If your weather is anything like ours, it feels like spring is still a long ways away ~ but I’m hopeful! I’m of the “If we decorate for it, it will come!” mind, and I’m sticking to it! 😉 We are in the midst of yet another rainstorm so a little spring cheer is definitely in order here!
I have big news to share today – something very exciting has arrived here at Maison de Cinq! A dream come true, actually! If you follow me over on Instagram, then you already know what my ‘big news’ is! 😉 But for those of you who don’t, I recently purchased an antique Mora clock! This is something I’ve been dreaming of for years. Something that, although I’ve looked, I didn’t really think I’d ever find.
