Hello friends and Happy Almost New Year! Today I’m joining in on a really fun and different blog hop, hosted by my friend Lory of Designthusiasm! Eighteen of us are sharing our home changes and makeovers that we accomplished in 2019. Everything from lighting and paint changes to full kitchen remodels ~ there are so many great posts here. And it’s such fun to get inspiration and ideas from what others have done!
Today I want to share a new addition to the dining room, and that’s my new bar cart! I’ve been wanting one for years and I’m excited to finally have one. And of course, I love the styling part the best, haha! Bar cart styling can be done in many ways, but I have a bit of a formula for those of you who might be getting one, or who have one and never quite know how to get it right.
Hello friends! Today I thought I’d take a break from the all-fall, all-the-time I’ve been bringing you these past couple of weeks and share an update we recently did here in the house. We recently redid our window coverings in the downstairs and got new woven wood shades and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
One question I get a lot here and even more so on Instagram, is what paint colors I have in my home. Whenever I post different rooms, I invariably get asked about the different colors I’ve used. So when the ladies from Project Design asked me if I’d like to share in a post with them about my favorite paint colors, I thought this would be a great chance for me to share what I’ve used and love (and don’t love!) in my home.
So today, I thought we’d take a little break from fall decorating. And why is that you ask? Because I’m excited to share with you a surprising new source for French country decor!
Have you guys checked out Walmart lately? Ever since I did the sweet tablescape a few weeks ago featuring items from their new Vintage Chic home line, I’ve been obsessed! While perusing the site and taking a look at all the cute new items they carry, I found so many gorgeous French country finds at Walmart that I wanted to take a moment to share them with you!
Trends in home design come and go, and sometimes come again! Brass seems to be one of those things. I remember when we first moved into our house and there were several brass light fixtures and they looked sooo “80’s”, and so, of course, they had to go! Door handles in the last decade looked better if they were chrome or oil-rubbed bronze, not dated brass. Oh, how things have changed!
