Trends in home design come and go, and sometimes come again! Brass seems to be one of those things. I remember when we first moved into our house and there were several brass light fixtures and they looked sooo “80’s”, and so, of course, they had to go! Door handles in the last decade looked better if they were chrome or oil-rubbed bronze, not dated brass. Oh, how things have changed!
I’ve only shared bits of my daughter’s room over the years, but today, I’m excited to share with you how we did a little coastal teen bedroom refresh!
We redid her room about six years ago, as at that time it had never been changed since the time she moved out of her crib! This time she didn’t want to change anything drastic, but she was itching to change her bedding. She was feeling like it was a little too young for her at this stage. She’s in college now, and as such, she wanted something just a little more grown-up. And she wanted some blues!
As I’m sure a lot of you know, I’m a candle lover! Candles are something I adore, and I almost always have one burning in the house. I love how they can warm up a space just with their scent. They can convey a feeling, a mood, or even a season. Truthfully, I can never have too many!
Do you love a good before and after as much as I do?! Then I think you’ll love reading the story of why I chose my home (you might just think I was crazy!)
We’ve all heard the saying, I know, so you may think my answer doesn’t seem terribly original. But I am really not kidding when I say we chose our house for the location, because, it’s almost the only reason to have chosen it!
I’m pretty sure I know what you’re thinking ~ at least those of you who’ve been reading for awhile, haha! I’ve been promising this post for awhile now, and it’s finally here! Today I’m so excited to be sharing my backyard and pool renovation reveal!
I know some people love to have a dining set. I have friends (and some clients) who don’t even want to mix woods in a room! But I’m quite the opposite. I love the creativity that a mix of woods, paint colors or styles affords you. And one of the most fun ways to achieve that mix is by mixing dining chairs. It adds character and interest that you simply can’t get with a matching set!
