Our French Christmas tour combines lots of natural elements with some metallics for sparkle, creating a beautiful, neutral take on the season.

Today I’m sharing my French Christmas tour of the living room!

But the French style I’m partial to is not the fancy, dressy version, but rather a pared-down and simpler version of French Country. I decorate in mostly neutrals, with a clean and simple aesthetic. Friday Favorites – Neutral Christmas

I know it’s a busy time right now, and to be honest, I thought about skipping my Favorites post this week. Friday Favorites – Mad for Plaid

Plaid. It’s a fabric that is universally liked. You would never say it’s controversial, or that people “either love it or hate it.” That’s saved for things like neon colors or zebra print. It’s actually the opposite. Most people like it, and wear it, but don’t give it much thought beyond that. And though I’m typical that way, I own a few shirts and a scarf or two, at Christmas-time, I absolutely adore it! There is something about a red plaid, whether it be in clothing or decor, that just screams Christmas to me. And though I did a very “neutral” Christmas in my own decor this year, it still has a special place in my heart this time of year. So =&0=&! Here’s to the holidays, drinking egg nog, dressing up for parties, twinkly lights, packages tied up with string, and plaid, in both clothing and holiday decor☺

There’s just nothing like the scents of the holidays! Here is our list of the 10 absolute best holiday scented candles. I absolutely love scented candles and I burn them all year, but my two favorites are pumpkin scented in the fall and holiday scented in the winter. However, many times they just don’t meet my expectations. They are either too sweet, or too strong, or worse, the scent is non-existent! And since they are usually not cheap, it can be really disappointing. So, today I’m sharing with you my absolute no-fail, beautifully scented, long-lasting holiday scented candles! =&0=& 1. Frasier Fir by Thymes is uber-popular. It smells exactly like it sounds; with a “just cut forest fragrance.” 2. The Holiday candle by Nest blends pomegranate, orange, pine, cloves, and cinnamon with a hint of vanilla. Soo good!! 3. This candle actually started my obsession with Christmas candles! Joie de Noel by Votivo is an amazing scent and unlike any other I’ve ever smelled. When I burn this, people always comment on how good it smells! 4. Capri Blue Fir & Firewood is another very popular candle, with a mix of apple, clove, fir, pine, cedar, and musk. 5. And though I said there was no order, I kinda lied, haha! Home for the Holidays Blog Tour – Maison Style

Good morning friends! I am so happy to be part of another Holiday Home Tour! So come on in, take a look around, and get inspired. I know there are a ton of tours this time of year, and I am so thankful that you’ve decided to stop by ours…… Welcome!

On my first tour, I shared with you how I’ve been wanting to switch to a more neutral and natural Christmas, which for me meant getting rid of the red. I have used greens, whites, creams, and gold and silver as my colors of the season. I love that they convey Christmas without being over the top. I’m a huge fan of bottlebrush trees; both vintage and new. I’ve collected them for a few years now and I usually add a couple new ones each year. This year I couldn’t find any vintage ones (so far!) but I did get a few new ones. The ones I purchased at World Market are here, and there are also options here, and here. I adore mercury glass ornaments and use them in my holiday decor quite a lot. I’ve found some sources for mercury glass ornaments here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. I love the shimmer they give! In the dining room I again used the mercury glass ornaments, just laid on the table with simple greens I clipped from my yard. My collection of vintage ironstone mixed with new white dishes is always in the dining room china cabinet, but this season I added some green vases to celebrate the season. And a tiny boxwood wreath! Similar here, and here. Last year when I began the process of changing to neutral colors, I purchased new stockings. I can not tell you how excited I was to find these! First of all, I adore burlap, and on top of that, they actually had all the letters that I needed for our names! I found a few similar options this year here, and here. These vintage looking Santas are another favorite of mine! They are a mix of Home Goods finds with ones purchased at a local antiques store. However, I’ve found them a little more difficult to find this year! I did find some great options here, here, here, and here, and adorable ornament versions
