This year’s fall porch decor takes a decidedly softer take on the season with an emphasis on subtle autumn colors. Fairytale and white pumpkins, along with mums in faded seasonal tones combine to create a porch with a soft, but still traditional, take on the season.
Fall. The season of cozy. And probably my favorite!
I mean, who doesn’t like cozy pillows and throws, falling leaves, and yummy soups and pumpkin lattes? There is such a special feeling in this season. It’s the start of football. And school. And of course, sweater and boot weather!
I mentioned earlier this week that I start my fall decorating with the kitchen, but the second spot I typically choose to decorate is the mantel! I don’t usually do much on the mantel for spring or summer, but in the fall and at Christmas, I like to make it feel special and bring in some natural elements of the season.
Every season has it’s own special feel, but fall is definitely a favorite of mine. There’s just something about the coziness of the season that really speaks to my homebody nature. Give me some yummy soup and a cozy throw and I’m as happy as can be!
Are you someone who decorates for the season quickly, or do you take your time? Normally I spend a few days pulling out some seasonal touches, but this year I spent the better part of a month finally finishing!
I think some of the reason is that I had a certain idea of what I was going to do, and I ended up completely changing it almost before I even started.
Well, as is typical of California during this time of year, we are in a full-on heat wave! It’s so hot in fact that as I was arranging pumpkins and photographing the porch, it was in the high 90’s! 😉
Nonetheless, I’m feeling very fall-ish and enjoying the decorating (and pumpkin spice drinking and candle burning!) And the porch is definitely a favorite area to decorate.
