Obviously if you’ve been a reader for awhile now, you know that I love neutral Christmas decor. You can read here about when I first was falling love with a neutral Christmas palette. Well, it turns out, I’m more in love with it than ever!
When I think of “style” I think of classics; a great pair of jeans, that perfect trench coat, or the wear-with-everything black blazer. I never think of trends or things that are hot for just a season. I think of wardrobe items that are always in style, that always look good, and that make you feel chic the minute you put them on. One of those items is a classic leather jacket. It’s an investment, for sure, but it is so worth it! If you pick a quality leather jacket, it should last you several years or more. And with all the options we have nowadays, you don’t need to spend a fortune. You can get a high quality leather jacket, in a classic style that will last, for a reasonable price.
Maybe it’s because I don’t actually have an office of my own, but I am so inspired by all the gorgeous offices I’ve been seeing lately! We do have an office of sorts that is in part of our garage, but as you can imagine, it’s fairly dark. And not only that, it’s rather hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. As such, I’m usually writing the blog while standing in the kitchen or sitting in the dining room! Not only do I need an office for practical purposes, but it would be so fun to decorate one! With all the amazingly chic home offices I’m seeing, I’m so ready to decorate one of my own.
So, I’m admittedly a pumpkin freak... I like the infamous Pumpkin Spice Lattes, as well as anything else pumpkin flavored. And I especially love pumpkin scented candles! But I also love a lot of the other scents of fall. So in this post, I wanted to share with you the most amazing fall candles out there – and they’re not all pumpkin scented!
For today’s Friday Favorites post I thought I would talk fashion. I haven’t done a fashion post in many weeks and I miss them! I love decorating and design inspiration, but when fall rolls around, I definitely fall into that “back to school” spirit and get in the mood to shop. Not a whole overhaul, just a little closet refresh. And one thing I love to buy, especially in the fall, is coats. I’m a coat lover (as I’ve shared before!) Seriously, I definitely should be living somewhere other than Southern California! However, an absolute classic coat that I didn’t have until last year is a classic trench coat. And it’s ironic since of all the coats that might be most appropriate for California winters, it would be the trench!
I’m not sure when I first fell in love with the idea of decorating with pewter plates, but I’m pretty sure it was around the time I saw this photo!
How gorgeous is this kitchen?! And the pewter plates on the range hood just take it over the top. Design by Suzanne Kasler.
