I am so in the mood for spring this year! I know we probably all say that every year, but we’ve had such a cold and rainy winter here (for us!) that I just can’t wait to have a little sunshine. But until it actually thaws out a little, I’m starting to think about spring decorating. One color that really screams spring and summer to me is blue. More specifically, the combination of blue and white.
I’m a blazer lover – I have quite a few and I would say it’s a big part of my definitive style. But I wasn’t always someone who wore them. I think because I don’t work in a traditional office situation, it didn’t really land on my radar. However, once I started buying blazers and wearing them, I couldn’t stop!
I don’t live in a very large house, and I definitely don’t have a large kitchen, so one of the things I’m most drawn to is larger kitchens that have a ton of storage space (I have none!). And in my opinion, one of the most charming ways to have extra storage in a kitchen is with a butler’s pantry!
Today I’m talking about a color that I’ve had a love/hate relationship with for a long time. As many of you know, I had red as an accent color in my family room and kitchen for many years (I only recently got rid of it and talked about changing to blue). But I no longer gravitate to it at all in interiors, at least for now. I think I just had it for too long – it was in my house in one form or another for about 15 years!
I have to confess that I love almost all white flowers, to the point that even the flowers that are otherwise unloved and unglamorous look better to me when they are white. However, I do play favorites! 🙂 There are a few I love more than others, and one of them is white tulips.
