Are you looking for ways to make this unusual Mother’s Day still feel special? In this post I’m sharing ideas for just that, as well as my favorite picks for the absolute best Mother’s Day gifts ~ no matter what type of mom yours is!
So today, I thought we’d take a little break from fall decorating. And why is that you ask? Because I’m excited to share with you a surprising new source for French country decor!
Have you guys checked out Walmart lately? Ever since I did the sweet tablescape a few weeks ago featuring items from their new Vintage Chic home line, I’ve been obsessed! While perusing the site and taking a look at all the cute new items they carry, I found so many gorgeous French country finds at Walmart that I wanted to take a moment to share them with you!
You all know I love French farmhouse style, and one of the most frequent questions I get both through the blog and on Instagram is about where I find my French furniture pieces and accessories. And of course, you know how much I love to find those authentic vintage French pieces. I spend a lot of time doing vintage shopping, both online and at antique stores and flea markets.
It’s November 1st, so it’s officially Christmas season right?! I know it’s a little early for some, but you’d be surprised how many people are already looking ahead and planning their shopping and decorating for the holiday season. And last year I had so many questions about where I got some of my French Christmas decor, that I thought it would be nice to put it into a post for you this year. Before it all sells out!
For many years, I wanted an antique crystal chandelier in either my dining room and/or entry way. I shopped flea markets and antiques stores, and even Ebay and 1st Dibs, and I kept coming up short. It was hard to find the right size, and of course, the right price! And then, naturally, life would get busy and I’d stop looking. (I never understand people who are such fast decorators! This is definitely not me!) As a result, many years went by with no decent chandelier in either space.
Lately I’ve been really loving mirrors. Which is funny, because, ironically, of all the things I decorate with, mirrors are not usually one of them!
I tend to buy art more than I buy mirrors. Not including bathroom mirrors, I have two – two! – decorative mirrors in my whole home! I have a mirror over my living room mantel, and my beloved antique French Trumeau mirror in my entry way which is one of my all-time favorite things I’ve ever purchased. But I’ve been wanting to add a couple more French style mirrors.
