Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a very special post with you all, and one of my favorites of the year. I’m joining some blogging friends for the annual Christmas Nights Tour hosted by Rachel of Maison de Pax. This is such a special tour because it’s the only one I know of where we’re sharing our Christmas lights at night. And for me, nighttime at this time of year takes on a special kind of magic.
From driving around and looking at lights, to sitting by the fire and gazing at the tree, to holiday parties ~ a lot of December’s most special moments take place at night. To me, there’s nothing quite like the twinkle lights of a tree. I’ve spent many evenings by our fire sitting by the tree either reading or working, something I don’t do the rest of the year. And outdoor lights in neighborhoods make everything feel more festive, too. I guess I still feel a little like a kid and when the twinkle lights come on, I’m just mesmerized. So grab a cup of tea or a glass of wine and take in the magic of the season. I’ve lit the fire and all the candles, and want to welcome you into our home. If you’ve come here from Cherished Bliss or one of the other homes on the tour, I’m so glad you’re here….
Live wreaths and garland decorate the porch, along with some lanterns to greet guests as they arrive.
If you’ve been following along this year, then you know this is the first year I’ve used blue in my holiday decor. I’ve added some touches of French blue, along with lots of white and silver. I love the softness it evokes!
The garland is my first attempt at swagging! I’ve always just laid it across the top of the mantel and I love this so much more! If you’re curious as to how I combined the different garlands and secured it, you can see all the details in a video I did on my Instagram stories. (I added the lights for this tour but normally, it’s not lit).
My favorite bottle brush trees make an appearance on the little side table, along with some of my favorite mercury glass blue baubles.
More mercury glass on the coffee table, along with one of my white paper mâché houses.
The lanterns add a nice glow to the hearth as well.
Thanks so much for visiting! And if you’re a subscriber or regular reader, a special thank you! You’ve made the season extra special with all of your support and sweet comments! I always hope that my holiday decor serves as just a jumping off point for your own decorating. And I hope this view of my Christmas lights at night has inspired just a little of this magical season for you.
I wish you all the very happiest of holidays! May you be surrounded by family and friends, who envelope you in love, happiness, and light.
On that note, I’ll be taking a short break to spend some much-needed quality time with my own family. I’ll be back on December 31st with a special post reviewing this year. Hope to see you then!
Merry Christmas!
Sheila
