Classic Holiday Table Setting with Cedar, Roses & Bells

In this classic holiday table setting we used cedar garland, white roses, and brass bells to create an easy but elegant table that is perfect for anything from a dinner party to Christmas Eve. 

You guys know how much I love entertaining, and that’s especially true at the holidays. Setting a pretty table and making it feel special is something I truly love doing, but I know that that’s not true for everyone!

And I get it. With the holidays already feeling busy, sometimes adding tablescaping to your to-do list can feel overwhelming.

So today I set out to create a table that is both elegant and easy. One that is beautiful and festive, but that takes very little money or effort, and that almost anyone could do!

I never like a table setting to be too fancy or unattainable. Of course I want it to be pretty, but I also want it to be practical – and easy! And I think this fills the bill. It’s pulled together and very festive, but with a casual inviting side, too. 😉

 

But whether you host a dinner party, a casual holiday event like a tree-trimming party, Hanukkah, Christmas dinner, or something else, this table setting is perfect and easily adaptable!

 

The focus of the table are my favorite brass bells. Because these bells are so easily adaptable, I knew it would be easy to create a table with them as the centerpiece. Plus, they’re pretty and oh-so-festive!

 

Using a cedar garland as the base for the centerpiece was much simpler than arranging clippings!

 

These versatile brass candlesticks add light and sparkle, and tiny brass bells were scattered along the center for a little extra color and to tie in the larger bells.

 

White roses with eucalyptus, cedar, and other greenery in a simple glass vase makes for a beautiful seasonal arrangement. But honestly, you could also leave it out and just do a low centerpiece with the bells and garland and it would be just as beautiful!

 

For each table setting, I like to do something special either with a place card or napkin ring. This time I ‘created’ a napkin ring using twine and a tiny brass bell along with a cedar sprig. I used this bell garland and simply cut off the bells! 😉

 

And these napkins! They are so cute and I just love the seasonal sentiments. These are the gold, but they also come in red print as well.

 

Our white dishes are layered over scalloped gold chargers. I do love to use chargers for the holidays! They make any table feel elevated and the gold feels especially festive.

 

And this table could easily be adapted for anything from a fancy dinner party to a casual Christmas Eve. You could even use the garland and bells idea on a buffet table, or skip the flowers and stack the bells higher in the center. The options are endless!

In the end, it doesn’t take a lot of effort to set a pretty and festive table. And what better time to create a special table for those you love than at the holidays?
