I’ve only shared bits of my daughter’s room over the years, but today, I’m excited to share with you how we did a little coastal teen bedroom refresh!
We redid her room about six years ago, as at that time it had never been changed since the time she moved out of her crib! This time she didn’t want to change anything drastic, but she was itching to change her bedding. She was feeling like it was a little too young for her at this stage. She’s in college now, and as such, she wanted something just a little more grown-up. And she wanted some blues!
She loves summer (as do I!) and she wanted to add some subtle touches of coastal style to her room. It’s so unlike the hot pink style she favored when she was younger! The blues are more grown up but still feminine, and they meld nicely with her Revere Pewter grey walls.
Coastal Bedding Choices
This adorable chambray comforter set was the perfect thing to bring some coastal style into her room. And the price couldn’t be beat! This set is such a pretty soft blue, and it could easily work in a master bedroom or guest bedroom as well!
We layered the matching chambray shams over a set of white pom pom shams. Love these!
We also ordered this cute beach print for over her bed and are excited to add that as soon as it arrives! In fact, there is a lot of coastal themed wall decor on their website. So many options in fact, that we had a hard time deciding what to pick!
One of my favorite touches is the stylish little fringed denim pillow we added! Love it – and it only cost about $12!! I’m seriously blown away by the quality for the price of everything we bought. And they have so many options in every category! I’m so thrilled to find the depth of merchandise they have, along with the style I’ve found at Pottery Barn Teen and other sites, for such better prices!
Baskets & Other Accessories
And another item I’m totally crushing on?! This seagrass basket! I mean, does it get any cuter than this?!
I’m seriously in love with the pom poms! And it’s such a versatile piece. I could see it being used to hold blankets, hide office supplies, or even store electronics accessories or cords. It looks cute no matter where I put it! 😉
The desk and chair we inherited from my mom. They were both dark wood before I took some Chalk Paint to them! Now they fit perfectly in her room.
I hope this coastal teen bedroom refresh has been as fun for you as it was for us! If you’ve been following me on Instagram at all lately then you know I’m definitely feeling the need to hang onto summer just a little longer this year, and this room does just that!
