Corian MoodBoard Maker – a Cool, New Creative Design Tool!

Today I’m sharing a fun new tool that the Corian® Design brand has developed called the Corian Moodboard Maker! As someone who eats, sleeps and breathes design, this is right up my alley.

Corian® has developed a tool where you can go develop your own “moodboard.” By combining photos and textures, you can create a unique inspiration board for your design. You can use it to plan a room, serve as an inspiration board, or even as a memento of a trip. The sky’s the limit to what you can create. Not only that, once you’ve made your moodboard, you can save and download it and print it out to keep, or even frame it as art in your home!

When I started to create my moodboard, the first thing that came to mind is the place that inspires me the most, France. My husband and I spent 10 days in Provence last fall and it truly was the trip of a lifetime. I knew immediately that that trip would be the inspiration for my moodboard.

To create your moodboard, head to the site. Then, the first thing you have to decide is which category your style falls into:

Organic
Minimal
Relaxed
Modern
Refined
Bohemian
Edgy

Each of these categories gives you different Corian® materials to choose from, which include Corian® Quartz and Corian® Solid Surface, as well as different pre-set photos to choose from. I chose Refined since I felt that was closest to not only my style, but also the aesthetic in France.

Here are some photos to give you an idea of where I was coming from while drafting my moodboard…..

Clearly, France is all about old, weathered, and crusty surfaces, from well-worn brick and cobblestones to crumbling statues. It also has a lot of smooth marble which is why I chose the Corian® Quartz I did, Valente Pearl. It seemed closest to the creamy marble surfaces that I saw in every hotel bathroom, as well as on the floors of the museums, restaurants, and even the stairs we took. Flowers were also a big part of the lifestyle, both in the private homes’ window boxes as well as our hotels.

Once I had chosen that, I also picked one of the pre-set photos, the scrolled iron gate. Not only is it gorgeous, but it reminded me of many of the iron gates we saw on our trip.

Then for the rest of my choices, I chose four photos that were all from the chateau where we stayed. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and it was a wonderful mix of old world charm and new modernity. This structure was a private residence for three centuries and has only now been painstakingly restored and opened to the public.

You can see how the photos I took look in my moodboard below:

This Corian® Moodboard now serves as a reminder of a trip that we will treasure for a lifetime. And I really feel like it captures the essence of the place!

Another fun thing? You can download this moodboard to save for later inspiration. And you can also order a framed print of your mosaic. I love the interesting shape of it. And the fact that no two are alike makes it the perfect personal piece to keep!

Happy Tuesday!
