A Cozy Christmas on the Patio
Hello there! Hopefully you’re not tired of Christmas inspiration yet, as today I’m sharing my final Christmas tour with you as part of Krista’s Seasonal Simplicity Series! If you’re coming here from A Place of My Taste, welcome. But wherever you’ve come from, I’m so glad you’ve stopped by.
Today I’m doing something special, something I’ve wanted to do for awhile now. I’m sharing our patio dressed in some simple holiday spirit! Because I’m in California, it’s actually possible for us to sit outside some nights and enjoy the cool night air, some Christmas tunes, and a glass of wine. Of course, we need a heavy sweater and some blankets, but it is another way of enjoying the season. We have so many hot days and nights all summer and fall that I’m happy to take advantage of the one perk we have!
There’s a special glow this time of year unlike any other. Something magical happens when we slow down and enjoy the season, rather than rushing around. And this year I’m really trying to capture some of that magic. Especially since many years the season has flown by in a blur, and I’m left with a feeling that it went way too quickly.
I brought a small tree out here, and also added strings of white lights to the citrus trees and around the fountain.
Cedar garland and silver mercury ornaments create some seasonal cheer without too much fuss.
I plopped some white roses in a vintage champagne bucket to make it feel a little special. And if you wanted to use this idea for a table inside, you could simply add some placemats and silverware and you’re all set. Casual but chic – and easy!
Faux fur blankets keep us cozy – at least until it gets too chilly and we have to go in!
And of course, lots of candles are a must!

Here’s hoping you can capture some holiday magic, too. Whether that’s sitting outside by the fountain, around a roaring fire, or just by the tree in your living room….

Lovely patio, enjoy. It is not possible in Eastern Canada.
Thank you so much! I would love to have snow but since that is impossible, I’m embracing what we do have;)
Happy Holidays!

Oh the outdoor living in sunny California….so beautiful Sheila! As I write, I am overlooking a pretty snowy backyard…the ice should be clearing soon and then I can break out of the house!….Have a most Merry week Sheila!!
Aww, it’s so funny how the grass is always greener isn’t it?! I would LOVE some snow – any snow!! Believe me, it doesn’t feel Christmas-y if it’s in the 70s!! That’s why I decided to embrace what we have you know?!
Wishing you a very merry one Shirley!

Stunning! I can’t even imagine spending Christmas on the patio. Thank you for sharing your home on the house tour.
Aww thank you Krista! I know – it is ridiculous! But since I long for the white stuff so much, I figured I should take advantage of what I have, haha!
Thank you again for having me on the tour. It was a pleasure:)
And Merry Christmas to you!

It is beautiful! I wish we could still use our patio in the winter. It is currently covered in snow. Love the metallic touches 🙂
Yes, this is clearly not possible where there is snow! But, I’m always so sad that we don’t have that beautiful, classic White Christmas so I figure this is the only perk we have, haha! Thanks for your kind words and for stopping by Stacy!
