This cozy fall table setting is a casual take on Thanksgiving. Featuring pumpkins, lanterns and greenery it’s an easy one to throw together and would be perfect for a low-key Thanksgiving, small Friendsgiving or fall dinner!
Thanksgiving is definitely one of my absolute favorite times of the year. The combination of family and feasting is hard to beat. It’s a truly American holiday – inclusive of everyone and celebrating gratefulness, which is what I love about it. And it’s also got pumpkin pie! 😉
And while many of us may not be celebrating as big as we did in the past, that’s okay. We can still create a wonderful holiday for those we love!
So even if it’s just your family of four, you and your significant other, or you’re doing a casual Friendsgiving with just a few people, this cozy table is the perfect mix of casual and festive!
Sometimes my table settings take awhile to create, and sometimes they come more easily. Thankfully, this was in the latter category! This plaid throw had the color palette I was looking for, and once I decided to use it as the tablecloth, it all came together.
I envisioned a warm and cozy table centering on the plaid throw, featuring tones of brown, tan, and green. And I wanted to create a super easy tablescape, so no flowers this time!
Neutral pumpkins in white and green with lots of eucalyptus and acorns create a simple and easy to recreate centerpiece.
The decorative salad plates are something I already owned, and they tied into the tones in the plaid perfectly.
The salad plates are layered over simple white dinner plates and then these wood chargers from Crate and Barrel. I love the color of these! They’re so versatile that I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them.
The little mercury glass votives are my absolute favorite! I can’t tell you how many tables I’ve used them on!
They work for Thanksgiving as well as Christmas and holiday tables, and they’re lovely on a mantel or coffee table, too.
The little wood acorns add some additional seasonal texture.
I used a more casual wine glass than I typically do, just because it seemed to work better with feel of the table. These goblets have a very European feel and I love that they aren’t as delicate or breakable as my typical glasses!
This warm and cozy table setting is casual, but still festive. And you could easily use an old throw or layer a couple of scarves to achieve the same look!
The wood lanterns are my favorites that I use again and again. They work for everything from table settings, to outdoor decorating, to porch decor.
Here I used real candles, but when they’re outside I typically use faux candles for safety.
The napkins with their sweet message of gratitude seem especially poignant this year. These were a lucky find at Home Goods, but I’ve found a few that convey the same feeling.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving! Whether it’s small and intimate, or with your immediate family, or even virtual, may you enjoy the camaraderie of gathering together.
Even when we can’t celebrate as we once did we can still be grateful for our blessings and honor the spirit of the season.

Aww thanks so much Michele! Those were a lucky find at Home Goods – I’ve tried finding them but haven’t had any success yet. I linked a very similar set that is equally as cute below:

And the set I linked is frequently available on Ebay so it’s pretty easy to find a full set. Hope that helps!
