Fall Living Room Decor: Soft & Warm Autumn Colors

Looking for some fall decorating inspiration? Our fall living room decor is inspired by the colors of autumn, but with a soft and subtle touch.

Are you ready for fall? I know I sure am! A few weeks back I was feeling like I wanted to hold onto summer, but lately I’m really craving that change of season. Not only does it feel fun to refresh the house a little, but I’m also ready for a little cool down in the weather.

Not to mention all the other fun parts of fall that I love!

So I’m embracing the season with the colors of autumn. But just like I did with the mantel, I’m doing them in a softer vein and I’m loving it! Think classic colors of autumn, but in slightly more muted tones. Faded rusts, pale mustard yellows, and of course, those soft green pumpkins that I love. 😉

I didn’t want to go overboard or too “theme-y” with my fall living room decor – simple is usually best in my mind.

But I do like to usher in the season by using flowers and some natural items so that it feels festive without being too much. For more ways to use natural autumn decor, check out my Four Tips for Simple Fall Decorating here.

On the coffee table I filled my favorite dough bowl with lots of baby boos and Casper whites.

And a small flower arrangement holds a mix of soft fall colors as well.

The mustard yellow pillows are actually from a few years ago. I hadn’t used them in quite awhile and I decided to bring them back out again. I love that they add color to the living room without being too strong.

And I love using these dried grasses! They add such great texture and mixed with eucalyptus create a simple nod to the season. And acorns are one of my favorite things to use in the fall! These are made of wood, but with real tops.

They look so real and can be used year after year – I love that! 😉

  1. What a beautiful home you have created; I love your use of color. I also like your gentle nod to fall decorating. Thank you for sharing! As I am shopping on line for drapes I think the color of yours are what I am looking for to use in my living room. Can you tell me where you bought them and what color they are?

    1. Hi Marcia! Thanks so much for your kind words – you made my day!

And my drapes were custom but they are VERY close to the PB drapes in the natural color here: https://rstyle.me/+qx79zCNgEf0428RUQE4uWw

These are also linked under “Shop my Home” and then “Living Room.” Their drapes are lined and the linen is good quality, too. Hope that helps!

I absolutely LOVE the soft muted tones you used! I hope to incorporate some of your ideas in our home this fall. As always, your home is stunning! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas!

    1. That is such a sweet comment Jeanne! Thank you so much – you made my day! 🙂

  3. Just the right mix of color so that the room is not bland. It has a warmth to it that a lot of rooms done in this color palette don’t have.

    1. Aww that is such a nice compliment Margo – thank you so much!!

      Happy fall!
