This year’s fall porch decor takes a decidedly softer take on the season with an emphasis on subtle autumn colors. Fairytale and white pumpkins, along with mums in faded seasonal tones combine to create a porch with a soft, but still traditional, take on the season.
To me, fall really starts when my porch is decorated! It’s the first thing that any visitor sees and it sets the tone for the season. And is there anything more festive than a pretty fall porch?!
Yet as much as I love to decorate the porch, I also want it to reflect the inside. And this year, the indoors are awash in muted autumn color. So that’s what I did on the outdoors as well!
I want to reflect the season, but I don’t want to spend a fortune or go too crazy. I think Pinterest has us all convinced that we need corn stalks and hay bales and 100 pumpkins to create a festive porch, but nothing could be further from the truth!
The wreaths I used this year are my absolute favorite! As soon as I found these wreaths with their soft pink/rust berries I knew they’d be perfect for the look I was going for!
Unfortunately, these are sold out but I’ve sourced a few that give a similar look below!
I usually start with some heirloom pumpkins and this year was no different. Fairytale pumpkins in their muted rust color, along with some Jarrahdale green and white pumpkins create the palette I love.
Add to that some mums in white, muted pinks and faded rusts and you have fall porch decor that is subtle but pretty.
Another seasonal porch favorite is these lanterns from Pottery Barn. I love the wood/metal mix – they just really add a lot of texture and interest to whatever else I put out here. I use them every fall and they’re still going strong!
I always love to use a mix of different pots and planters. The olive basket and the galvanized bucket are vintage (similar below), and the rustic terracotta pots are my favorite! I use them everywhere!
I hope this gave you some inspiration for your own fall porch decor! I’ve linked most of the items I used below in case you want to create a similar look. 🙂

I agree, your beautiful dog is the best decorating tip! But seriously – I had noticed those eucalyptus wreaths a few weeks ago and now I’ve ordered one for the back door. And a stop at Traders for more subtle pumpkins will be happening soon too. Thanks for your beautiful decorations, they always appeal to me!
