Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

As you’re reading this I’m in NYC! I’ve landed here for the BHG Stylemaker event, something I’m beyond excited to have been invited to! This is actually the fourth year I’ve been invited but only the first where it’s worked out to go. It’s quite an honor as they only bestow it on 50 or so bloggers/influencers each year – a bit of a ‘pinch me’ moment for sure! Plus, I get to see some of my blogging friends, many of whom I haven’t seen since before Covid.

Needless to say, it was a busy week working and prepping content before I left, trying to squeeze in some time with my daughter, as well as shopping/deciding what to wear, haha! The week before travel is always a little crazy for me, this time especially so since the weather is cold and rainy in NY!

But I’ve got lots of fun things to share this week, so grab a coffee and let’s dive in!

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

This house! It’s such a wonderfully updated take on traditional style, with a mix of antiques and modern elements. See the whole home here.

These amber glass votives are a great little find. So versatile for everything from tablescapes to decorating, and I adore the color.

I love these chunky baskets perfect for adding texture for fall and super versatile for storing just about anything!

And I can’t believe how real these faux pumpkins and gourds look! Plus, they’re on sale right now and get amazing reviews.

This ridged marble box would look so good in a bathroom or on a coffee table. Plus it looks exactly like the West Elm version for half the price!!

Loving this sculptural bowl! It would make such a great statement on a dining table.

Curious what your favorites for September were? This gorgeous chunky throw blanket (on sale!), these faux dried grasses I used in my fall kitchen (on sale now!), these adorable stoneware appetizer plates, and these stunning fall throw pillows (love!)

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

Since my week was all about travel-wear as well as things I needed once I got to NYC, I did a little bit of shopping this week. 😉 I fell in love with this suede blazer, but even at 25% off, it was out of my price range. However, I did find this very similar option (above) that’s super cute, much more reasonable, and still real suede! I think it’s got such a chic look, and I’m loving it with cropped flares like these very popular ones from Anthro or these super chic trouser jeans (ordered them and can’t wait to try them).

I also felt very short on sweaters that I could layer when I’m in NY, and I wanted a few that weren’t too thick for under my coats. These turtlenecks came home (on sale for 30% off and come in 4 colors), this new trench coat I finally broke down and bought has really come in handy, and these water-proof boots I bought last year also made the trip. I also ended up getting this sweater polo that I absolutely love! Not for layering necessarily, but it’s a great look and helps fill out my sweater needs (the pink is especially cute!)

A few travel essentials I can’t live without are this cashmere poncho/wrap (on sale for 30% off) and a good tote bag (this one has a zipper which so many don’t!)

Your favorites for September were focused on sweaters (like me!): this cute button-shoulder sweater (20% off) and this tipped v-neck cardigan (30% off).

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

To be honest, I’ve never been a Bachelor fan, however, have you heard of the new “Golden” Bachelor that just came out??! It features a very attractive 71 year-old man and I’m kind of dying to see what it’s like! I think it could be sweet and lots of fun to see people that aren’t in their 20s and 30s!

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

You guys know I love everything pumpkin, and one of my favorites is the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew at Starbucks. My daughter and I love it so we looked for a recipe we could make at home. This recipe is a dupe of the original and oh-so-good!

And if you love pumpkin like I do, then I’m sure you’re aware of the cult-like feelings people have for Trader Joe’s many pumpkin flavored items. I love the pumpkin cream cheese and the pumpkin yogurt, and my kids love the pumpkin ice cream. Here are 20 Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Products You Don’t Want to Miss in case you want to try others!

  1. The pictures of the kitchen or kitchens are beautiful. I would love one like that . Enjoying your blog which is wonderful. Keep bringing all the great decorating ideas.

  2. Disappointed that I can’t access “How to Wake Up Earlier” without subscribing.

    1. I’m sorry about that Cheryl. So many websites have subscriptions now and only allow a few ‘free’ articles to be read. I’m trying to find a way to provide these without that happening!

      Thanks for stopping by!
