Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, movies, podcasts, fashion finds and more! And though it won’t all be French, some of it definitely will!
Hey friends and Happy Best Day of the Week! It’s been a flurry of busy over here on the blog this week. Besides sharing lots of fall content over the last couple of weeks, I’m also starting to think about holiday content. I know – it seems early! But like retail, bloggers have to start planning early so that we can be ready for when you’re ready for inspiration!
I’ll also be sharing some tablescapes for fall and Thanksgiving in the next few weeks so I’ve been doing some planning on that front as well! Stay tuned.
This is where I share everything from a great decor find, to a favorite movie, recipe, or podcast, to a wonderful thing to wear – anything that strikes me as interesting or fun or that you might love, too! 😉
THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR
Um, yes, this is a real home! I’m still picking my jaw up off the floor from the amazing architecture of the space! You can see the entire home here.
I’ve finally decided to tackle my neglected upstairs hallway. And no, I never show it (that’s because it’s that neglected!) I have some art on the wall but that’s about it. I’d love to add a console table, some sconces and a pretty runner. I started looking at tables and found some I love! Love the unique style of this one, this one is adorable, love the French country simplicity of this one, this one is gorgeous but may be too big, and this is a great alternate in a smaller size.
In the runner I’d love a pretty Persian style in soft colors. This one is reasonable and gets great reviews, this one is stunning (and probably my first choice), this is pretty and a great price, love the pattern on this one, or I could do this one that I already have in my bedroom and love!
Are you a ‘candle person’ like me? I love me a yummy candle and I must admit, I burn them more in the fall than any other season because, well, pumpkin spice, what else?! 😉
I love all sorts of fall candles (you can read about several other favorite fall candles in this post), but my absolute favorites are this Pumpkin Soufflé – so reasonable! – and this Harvest Pumpkin one.
THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING
Fall for me is all about sweaters, and I’m a huge fan of the cardigan. To me, they’re the perfect layering piece, especially in the in-between seasons of fall and spring.
This one has been a favorite forever! It’s the perfect cozy sweater for hanging out at home, but it still looks good enough to go out in. I also love this gorgeous one (ordered it in the heather green), this cozy one, this chunky knit one, and this one comes in such pretty colors (and it’s on sale!), and I love the casual ‘boyfriend’ style of this one!
Something I’ve always been a fan of and am really crushing on these days? Monogrammed jewelry, specifically necklaces. I bought this one recently (such a great price for gold-filled!), but I also love the uniqueness of this one, and I’m asking for this one for Christmas and adding my kid’s initials. Love!
Annnd I found the best mascara! I’ve been trying different brands and switching for years and honestly, one is never a whole lot different than another – until now! This Maybelline Sky High is amazing. I’m sold!
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO
My daughter and I started watching a fun new comedy called Younger about a 40-something divorced mom who passes herself off as 26 in order to get a job. After so many dramas and heavy shows lately, it’s nice to be watching something lighthearted again! Do you have any light or comedic shows to recommend? I need more!
I’ll be honest, documentaries are not something I normally gravitate to but there are so many good ones these days!
The first one we loved is called Crip Camp, about a disability camp (so inspiring), we also watched My Octopus Teacher which is unique, strange, and beautiful. And if you haven’t seen it, Tiger King is a wild ride, and as a gift to your husbands/partners, my husband and my boys loved Formula One! 😉
THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING
Usually in the fall we start drinking some new, seasonal cocktails. This apple one looks so delicious – can’t wait to try it!
And once fall hits I resume a few food traditions, too. First, I start trying to make soup every week. And second, each Sunday I roast a chicken. This recipe from Barefoot Contessa is a classic – it’s easy and delicious every time. And then you have chicken for soup, pasta or some other entree later in the week. Win/win!
Oh, and I’ve been eating a lot of pumpkin items from Trader Joe’s, haha! And of course, my own Pumpkin Cheesecake Crumble Bars are irresistible and I’ve been having several per day. Several. They’re trouble!

Movie suggestion: The Intern, (2015) with Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. A feel-good story that touches upon workplace age diversity and has some great lines. Don’t miss the very beginning.

Oh that is a good one! I saw it but only once – might have to revisit that!
