Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Happy December! I guess that means the holiday season is officially here, right?! Our weather has remained cool (well, for Southern California anyway) so that’s been nice. There’s nothing worse than decorating for Christmas with the A/C on, haha!

I’ve been sharing my Christmas tours over the last two weeks, starting with the family room, followed by the kitchen, and then yesterday, the formal living and dining rooms. Next week will be the last tour and I’ll be sharing my porch all decked out for the season, so keep an eye out for that! I hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration, and if you missed any of the tours (including years’ past) you can see them all here.

Love this warm and cozy Christmas tour by Shea McGee.

Now that my decorating is finished, I’m trying to focus more on getting some shopping done! Of course, I’ll be shopping my own Gift Guides but I’m also sharing a few fun finds I’ve found since I put those together. All of these would be perfect for gift-giving – or for you! 😉

You guys have been loving so many of my recent shares – I love that! Your favorites the last couple of weeks have been this gorgeous teak wood bowl (20% off) (from the Decor Lovers Gift Guide), and this farmhouse style dining table is a consistent best seller! It’s solid wood, gets amazing reviews, and is under $1000! The best dupe at the best price that I’ve found for that RH look (and almost exactly like mine.)

These pretty cheese markers would make a great gift, this cute wreath towel would make an adorable hostess gift, or a great item to add to a homemade food gift, and I’m dying over this charcuterie board! Love the idea (no wonder it was on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2023!)

And if you’re an Advent calendar person (I grew up with them and just adore them), this one is adorable and 40% off right now (soo cute if you have grandkids!), and this one is also gorgeous and much less expensive (just bought it – I couldn’t resist!)

I also wanted to share that I found a great dupe for my fave realistic wreath. This cedar wreath looks almost exactly the same for about 35% less! (and you can get 20% more off if you open a free account)!

And if you’re still looking for really high quality garland (almost everything is gone everywhere), the Real Touch Norfolk Pine is super popular and people love it. I found it here for a relatively inexpensive price (it won’t last long though!)

Last week’s best sellers: this French-y gold leaf wreath and this gorgeous velvet frayed ribbon.

Since we’re talking gift guides, I thought I’d share a few things on my own list this year. I’m craving cashmere so number one are a pair of cashmere joggers and matching hoodie. I love that they make being cozy feel elevated, and these are hands down the best prices around! I also would love a cashmere robe (a bigger ask but Quince has made them so much more affordable – fingers crossed!), and another pair of cashmere socks (50% off right now). My husband bought me my first pair last year and they are life-changing! When it’s cold they are soo cozy and they never get too hot.

Winter is definitely the cozy season to me so I’m always wishing for sweaters, sweats, and cozy jackets. Of course a sweater is also the perfect gift for almost everyone. I’m loving the button detail on this cute sweater – above (40% off), this quilted puffer jacket looks so cozy and is a wonderful price right now (30% off), and Quince has great sweaters too, like this beautiful wool turtleneck and their now famous $50 cashmere sweaters!

Speaking of cozy, I’ve found a new-to-me retailer that sells lounge wear and I’m seriously hooked! Their things are sooo soft and I’m impressed with the quality, and the whole site is on sale right now (perfect for gifts or for yourself!) I recently got these wide-leg fleece pants and these fleece joggers (both 30% off). Another great lounge-y find is this 2-piece sweater pant set – it’s so good!! An amazing price, almost 5* reviews, and it’s not solid poly as these things usually are. So impressed!

Last week’s best sellers: these slim wide-leg faux leather pant (still half off!) and this chic jumpsuit.

A rom com starring Meg Ryan? Yes, please! I’ve been waiting for What Happens Later to come out and am happy to see it’s gotten decent reviews. I’d see it anyway (it’s in the spirit of, and dedicated to, Nora Ephron) but it’s good to know it won’t be awful! (and it just released to streaming this week!)

Well, this isn’t eating, but it is ‘making’! 😉 I’ve always wanted to do a holiday stovetop potpourri – it would be so fun plus, it makes the house smell so good! I’m thinking this year will be the year I do it, and I’ll be starting with this yummy (smelling) recipe

You can also throw together the ingredients and give it as a homemade gift for neighbors and friends in cute mason jars. Love this idea!

How adorable is this Handmade Gingerbread House Garland?! I’m completely smitten!

These Command Cord Bundlers are seriously brilliant! I saw someone using them to secure garland around a door or window – worked so well! (and of course, they’re great for bundling cords, too!)

And if you missed it, this week I shared both the kitchen and the living room all dressed up for the season!

Happy Friday!

  1. Lots of cozy going on here! I may have missed it, but didn’t see the link for the adorable wooden advent calendar?
    Thanks, Sheila! Enjoy your shopping!

  2. I love the gold garland on your Christmas tree! Where did you purchase it?

    1. Hi Laurie, thank you! I had mentioned in the post that it is sold out – so sad!! Originally I had it linked in the Holiday Shop but unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere anymore. I’ll be sure to add a link if I do!
