Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Hello friends! How are you all doing? Feeling relaxed and not rushed? Or more slightly behind like I am?

I wish I could say I was done with all my shopping and wrapping as well as holiday cards, but alas, that is not the case. This season is the busiest on the blog so I’m juggling lots of work with all that needs to get done. But I’m not complaining – I love creating holiday content here and hope you’ve been inspired!

But I have done some shopping and my cards arrived today so that makes me feel a little more accomplished! Now to try and really savor the season in between the rushing around. 🙂

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing my holiday porch (it’s one of my favorites!), and next week I’ve got a gorgeous holiday tablesetting coming (my first and only one this year) as well as a holiday cocktail and some Christmas cookies, too. Can’t wait for you to see it all! If you missed any of my holiday tours, you can find them all here.

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

Love this sweet farmhouse all dressed up for the season!

Some personal favorites I love: I’m all about a good candle – especially at the holidays. My absolute favorite is the Linnea Lights Forest Fir. I recently got this new version – the gold vessel is gorgeous! I also splurged on the matching hand soap. I’d been eyeing the hand soap for awhile now and hesitated because it was a little pricey. But now it’s 30% off and I plan to re-use the bottle every year, filling it with my Mrs. Meyer’s much cheaper pine soap! It will look so much prettier in the powder room. 😉

A few home decor items I love to give as gifts: this rustic vase in the small is pretty and a great price now at under $50, this brass tray is gorgeous and so well-priced (where can you get a gorgeous gift for around $30?), and this rustic vase/planter would make such a great gift (and it’s over 60% off!)

Plus, a few holiday finds: these faux berries clippings look so real and are just adorable (and on sale!), this pinecone wreath is stunning and 40% off (plus, I love that it could be displayed all winter!), and these handcrafted village houses are so cute and also on sale.

A few holiday entertaining pieces that I love: (any and all would also make great gifts): I couldn’t resist these adorable toile napkins, and these linen napkins are soo good and an amazing price for the quality! I have them in the natural and white.

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

Since I know you all probably have a few events to go to, and I’m still looking for a couple of things, I thought I’d share a few more fab holiday attire finds. This sweater is so versatile (above) (can work with jeans or be dressed up), comes in lots of colors, and it’s under $50, as are these velvet skinnies (55% off) or grab these vegan leather pants that come in 4 colors and are a steal at 60% off!  Also, you (and me!) love this stunning velvet blazer (still 50% off) that is so chic and oh-so-versatile!

I’m also in the market for a cute evening clutch, for the holidays of course, but also for weddings and evenings out. This one is highly rated and comes in several colors (I ordered it in the metallic black to try). I love that it’s not tiny as so many are! (I just donated a few that I had bought years ago because I can’t even fit a cell phone in them, haha!)

Another good option is the uber-popular Frankie clutch. It comes in two sizes (both pretty roomy) and lots of textures and colors and now they’re all 30% off! I ordered that one in the smaller silver version. (Bigger version in black or gold here). We’ll see what wins! 😉

Totally not holiday attire, but one that I have to share I love them so much. Blondo makes the best waterproof boots and booties! I love these suede waterproof booties that are similar to the ones I have. Their boots are cute and comfortable, and they stayed completely dry while I was in torrential rains in NYC. If you’re looking for a more casual, chunky style the chelsea boots are super cute and on sale.

And I just ordered a couple of skin and hair care products that I love and want to share with you (these are perfect to use for holiday parties or events where you want to look your best!) A friend recommended this make-up primer which insures my face is prepped and everything goes on smoothly. Once my makeup is done, I’m using this makeup setting spray that I’m loving! It’s truly amazing and worth all the hype! And this hair treatment is the bomb!! Makes your hair look so shiny and is great if you color your hair like I do.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

Have you guys heard of the show called Poker Face? It’s a bit of a throw back to Columbo type shows, a 70s period show with a ‘mystery of the week’ being solved by a woman who can tell if someone is lying. It’s getting great reviews and looks intriguing! I think we’ll be trying that next week – we need a new show!

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

Since the holidays are almost upon us holiday cocktails are in order don’t you think? One of my absolute favorites is my Cranberry Whiskey Sour (above), it’s become a holiday tradition. I also shared this Pomegranate Cosmopolitan last year that we really like!

Looking for party ideas? One of my favorite things is to host a little appetizer/drinks party during the holidays. You can check out my Easy Holiday Wine & Appetizer Party for ideas and tips!
