Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

It’s been a fun and busy week here! Last night I was invited to a wine event by a company I partnered with a few years back and it was so fun. Held at Rossoblu (one of LA’s best restaurants) we had lots of good food and wine (though the drive did take almost 2 hours due to the rain – eek!)

Other than that, the garage laundry area continues in it’s quest to be more attractive and efficient. It’s been painted, flooring should be finished today, and this weekend the Ikea cabinets will be built – yay! At that point it will be about 80% done but at least I can put everything back and clear the floors!

And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

This new project from Amber Lewis (a favorite!) features lots of texture and character, and stunning ceiling beams!

Lately I’ve been totally crushing on natural stone like travertine, and since I can’t do travertine floors, why not some decorative accessories?

I’m in love with this fluted bowl and this pretty fluted tray (and those prices!)  And this smaller scalloped tray would work beautifully on a nightstand or in a bathroom. By the way, all of these are a fraction of the price of the more designer pieces RH and others are featuring these days!

I’ve been wanting to add some vases that aren’t as light as some of my white/creamy ones I have now. This gray vase is stunning in person. I also love this one or maybe this pretty terracotta piece? These last two are both under $30!

Looking for some spring cheer to get you through until the real thing comes along? This adorable faux tabletop lemon tree is half off now (love!) and this faux boxwood topiary is giving me all the French country vibes!

And talk about random! This week I bought this stone dish drying mat after a friend told me about it, and we love it! Rather than having an ugly plastic dish drainer sitting on your counter, you can use this stone drying ‘mat’ that absorbs water and looks like marble! #brilliant

Last week’s best sellers: our new dining chairs and this pretty marble tissue box cover.

Did you know pants are ‘back’? It may sound dumb but it’s really true. The last decade (or more) has been dominated by denim, but now, the pant is having a resurgence and I’m all in. I’m sharing a smattering of some that I’ve recently ordered or caught my eye – and they’re not all dressy!

The first one I’m sharing is a cropped sweater pant. I know it may seem strange, but you have to see the reviews on these! People rave – I’ve ordered them and am excited to see if they are as flattering as everyone says!

This wide-leg ponte pant (above) I already own is 30% off (and super flattering), another wide-leg that’s super cute and comes in several colors, this classic and versatile straight-leg (30% off) that works for almost anything, and this highly-rated cotton-blend pant (almost 50% off) that gives Anthropologie vibes for way less!

I’m such a fan of a polo-style sweater and this new one in chunky cotton (under $50!) has my heart! Great reviews and comes in solids and stripes – I’m sold!

I love a horse-bit style loafer seen here and here. I own the last ones but I’ve tried both on and can vouch that they are as comfy as they look!

Fun find of the week: this chunky pearl necklace makes an amazing statement – and looks so much more expensive than it is!

Last week’s best sellers: this pretty pink sweater (30% off) and this tipped Henley sweater.

I mentioned recently that I was looking for new shows, and several of you commented or wrote me to recommend Fool me Once. Then my husband came home from work saying he heard about it, so despite the bad reviews, we plunged in.

Admittedly, it’s not going to win any awards, but I will say it’s a fun watch. Twists, turns, and lots of characters to be suspicious of, we are enjoying it immensely. It’s based on a Harlan Coben novel which is what the show Safe was also based on (another show I recommended last year).

Pasta alla Norma (NYT gift link) is a dish I’m familiar with, but despite my love of Italian pasta dishes, I had never made or ordered it! Well, this week I changed all that.

It’s relatively easy, delicious, and filling – perfect for these wintery months. I ended up going with the NYT recipe (above) because it had 5* reviews, but there are lots of versions out there.

I realized I never share any fashion accounts with you, so here goes! I found Allison on Instagram and immediately loved that she was a former stylist like me. She’s not an influencer, but rather someone who shares great fashion knowledge with her followers. Though I don’t dress anything like her, she’s so good at helping you ‘find your style’ and advising how to mix the clothes you already own.

She also wrote a popular book, Wear it Well, where she has you identify 3 adjectives that describe your fashion style. I just bought it and can’t wait to dive in!
