Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

It was tax day for us this past week – never anyone’s favorite day! Between days of paperwork and my husband stressing and sweating (always!) it was a bit crazy. But yay for being done and not having to do them for another year, right?

Plus, we’re off to visit our youngest next week – yay! Always a little hectic getting ready to go away, get the house sitter situated, etc., but I’m excited to see him. 🙂

And now onto Friday Favorites – we’re sharing lots of pretty spring decor and fashion finds this week!

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

Loving this adorable banquette in the dining area! Check out lots more of this home here, including a great indoor/outdoor vibe.

Some of my favorite ways to freshen up for the spring season!

Add an adorable doormat like this charming French-inspired one (love!)

Or these pretty botanical prints – they’re such a great price!!

I’m utterly smitten with the idea of pretty basket planters. These lined basket planters are so great (just ordered them in a few sizes – and they’re a good price, too!), these rattan planters have always been a favorite (they’re big and have great reviews), or go for these charming ceramic tulip cachepots – sooo adorable!

Amazon has some amazing pillow finds these days – very McGee/Etsy feeling for much, much less! Love this pretty floral print as well as this one

Another option is to add a fun rug like this classic jute stripe! Brings such a fresh vibe to anywhere you put it.

Last week’s best sellers: these pretty toile printed eggs and these gorgeous fluted glass hurricanes

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

One of my favorite easy spring/summer outfits is a cute top with white pants or jeans and there are lots of new ones out there. For a drapey look, this floral one is so gorgeous (above)! and I love this striped linen one (if you haven’t ordered from Rails before, they are a woman-owned business and make very high quality pieces. Plus, all shipping is free). Another cute linen option is this one.

Another great look is a casual lace top. They’re so cute with jeans, and it’s a great way to wear something a little more interesting than a tee but still be comfortable. This one has a similar vibe (15% off) to an old H&M one I had years ago and wore to death (just ordered) and this one is another great option, as is this long-sleeved black version.

As far as white jeans go, the kick out crop is so cute and these wide-legs are stylish (on sale for under $50!)

Pair them with the cutest raffia slides ever and you’re all set!

Remember I mentioned I’ve been looking for a dress for my niece’s wedding? Well, I had fallen in love with this one, but not only was it more than I wanted to spend, but it also felt too white to wear to a wedding. But you know how you get something in your head? It seemed like the perfect look I was going for and the right level of dressiness.

I was still thinking about it when I found this option today! I love it (plus it’s a great price!) Crossing my fingers it’s as perfect as it looks. And if you love polka dots as much as I do, this skirt is stunning

Last week’s best sellers: this easy striped hoodie and this cute raffia slingback flat.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

We recently got hooked on The Tourist on Netflix. Set in Australia, It’s a 6-part limited series focused on a guy suffering from amnesia. He apparently did some pretty bad things in his prior life, so lots of bad guys are after him. What I love about it is it’s not your typical thriller, it adds in some offbeat humor and unexpected plot points. There’s also a season 2!

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

Are you guys ‘breakfast people’? I’m really not, though I do make a nice breakfast every Sunday and always have. To be honest, I’m not a huge egg person so that’s probably some of the reason. But, I recently made the most amazing scrambled eggs ever! #notevenkidding!

We’ve been making Ina Garten’s Scrambled Eggs with Goat Cheese for years and we all love them. But last month I saw Jennifer Garner make a new recipe, Ina’s Cacio e Pepe eggs (much like the beloved pasta) and I’m telling you, they are life-changing! (I used parmesan cheese instead of pecorino). You have to try them!

Other breakfast favorites are this Basic Frittata recipe (above – if you haven’t had it, a frittata is basically an Italian omelette except you bake it and it’s so much easier and tastier!). We also love these Buttermilk Pecan Pancakes and this Homemade Granola (I frequently make this at Christmas to give to neighbors and friends).
