Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend full of rest and relaxation! Ours was intended to be that, but we mostly spent time in the yard (finishing) the furniture cleaning and replanting our flower beds. I am excited though as the garden was pretty bare and many things had died – it will be so nice to see it all filled in again!

Plus, our ‘May Gray’ has finally cleared and we’ve been having some truly gorgeous windows-open weather! 🙂

On that note, let’s talk summery favorites!

Are you thinking this is a kitchen in a Nancy Myers movie?! It could be for sure! Actually it’s designer Mark D. Sikes’ own kitchen. No wonder she hired him to redo her home! His interiors feel elevated yet so lived-in and cozy, I just want to dive right in. You can see the rest of his home here

Also, he has a third book coming out! His first two, Beautiful and More Beautiful, are just that. And I’m sure this next one entitled Forever Beautiful will be equally gorgeous (available for pre-order).

Inspired by those pretty rooms, I’m sharing some favorite summer finds – which for me will always include linens, blue and white, and anything rattan!

I fell in love with this throw pillow the minute I saw it! It just feels like summer doesn’t it?! This is another cute one that’s very reasonably priced and it’s reversible.

I’ve recently become enamored with colored glassware. It’s really such a great way to bring color to the kitchen (plus, it feels very French!) These gorgeous wine glasses get great reviews and come in 8 different color choices (I’m partial to the blue and the green).

I love to change out candles with the seasons and this one smells like a salty beach day (priced so well!)

As you know, I’ve been very focused on my outdoor spaces. I’m loving these charming little French pots and this adorable blue and white striped outdoor rug is classic Nancy Myers style and it’s a steal!

And why not bring some blues to your outdoor space too? This pillow is a favorite, as is this one in blue .

This large woven tray I’ve been eyeing is back in stock! It would be especially cute displayed on a coffee or console table.

Amazon finds: this rattan tissue box cover looks way more expensive than it is and we love this snap in pasta strainer – no more taking out a giant colander!

Last week’s best sellers: these antique bread boards and this adorable basket (love the shape!)

I finally ordered the J.Crew slip dress and I love it! (Don’t know what took me so long – also it’s now under $50!)  Another find is the Quince version – they come in lots of colors but the blue floral is stunning! I love that it could be worn with a jean jacket and sneakers, but would look equally beautiful with heels for a night out.

Blue and white is also one of my favorite combos when it comes to fashion, and it feels especially crisp in summer. I’ve been waiting for this adorable sailor sweater (above) to go on sale and now it’s 30% off! Vintage-y French goodness!

Love a cute denim top with white jeans like this one, or this one (40% off). Or flip it and wear a breezy white top like this one or this one with cropped jeans or shorts.

And white dresses! I can’t get enough. If you’re like me and love them, or don’t yet have one, these two are so good! This halter midi in linen is the epitome of chic, and this breezy cotton number is the quintessential summer dress! And though I love them in white, they both come in several other colors.

And I’m loving this inexpensive espadrille wedge – so cute and such a good price point!

Last week’s best sellers: these linen sailor shorts and my fave packable hat (still on sale!)

We started a new show this week called Slow Horses starring Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas. It was something my husband chose (I had never heard anything about it) and it’s turned out to be so good! It’s British (which you know I love!) with great acting. Definitely worth checking out.

Looking for some summery recipes? These Grilled Pizzas (above) look sooo good, as does this Pasta with 15-Minute Cherry Tomato Sauce.
