Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Well, it was supposed to be a fun week full of girl stuff like shopping, chatting, and watching rom coms together. However, when my daughter landed on Tuesday she wasn’t feeling well and lo and behold, it turns out she has Covid!

So, she’s quarantining and I’m praying that I don’t get it as we have a little get away planned for next week that I’m so looking forward to!! The best laid plans right?!

I do have lots of fun summer things to share and talk about though, so let’s talk Friday Favorites!

This ranch house is huge with amazing property. A truly incredible home!

Do you decorate for the Fourth? I have traditionally done a little bit of patriotic decor starting with Memorial Day, with us enjoying it through the Fourth and even into August. As you know, I don’t love anything too theme-y, but a little bit of red, white and blue looks so fresh and crisp, and is perfect for summer!

I love this cute doormat, this striped pillow could easily mix and match with others, these wreaths are absolutely adorable (and on sale!), and I’ve used these burlap flags every year since I’ve owned them. They are so much better than the cheapy ones sold on Amazon or at Rite Aid and now they’re 20% off!

Did you know Studio McGee for Target has quietly released a new line? If you know Marian from the popular blog Miss Mustard Seed one of her still life paintings has been included and it’s beautiful! I’m also loving this cute plaid indoor/outdoor mat and they also included a cute floral wallpaper! Love, love, love, and the price is right!

And… speaking of Studio McGee, these best-selling wicker trays are at Amazon for less than half what they are on the McGee & Co website! Such a great price, and I’ve seen them in person and they are stunning.

Two of my favorite Amazon gadgets: we love summer but it brings bugs! I’m using these plug-in fly traps in the kitchen and family room. I love that they are low-profile, inexpensive, and super effective.

And I just got some of these cute wicker tealight candle holders to brighten up any outdoor entertaining I’m doing. I love that they have more oomph than plain glass tealights!

Last week’s best sellers: this artisan ceramic tray and this pretty embroidered pillow (still on sale!)

Sharing some of my favorite dresses for those of you who may need something for a summer event. Whether it’s casual like a shower or graduation, or dressy like a wedding, there are so many pretty dresses out right now!

Everyone needs the perfect sundress! I just ordered this stunning blue striped number (looks so flattering!) I also love white for summer like this one (above – love!) or this one (on sale for over 35% off!)

For something dressier, this dress is a stunner at an amazing price! And this gorgeous floral dress is summer wedding perfection!

Many of my blazers are feeling pretty dated so I’ve been wanting to update them with a couple of over-sized versions. Love this linen blazer that gives great style at a very reasonable price – plus it comes in 7 color choices.

The ‘minimal’ shoe trend is going strong! I saw this pretty kitten heel on a fashion blogger and I was sold. I love how simple and classy it is, plus it’s under $100!

If you’re familiar with the cult candle line Diptyque, then you know they also carry fragrances. However, previously they only had eau de toilette and perfume versions which were pretty pricey. Now they’ve come out with a less expensive lightly fragrant body spray that smells like summer!

And one of my favorite Amazon finds ever is this clever hat clip! Makes traveling with/carrying a straw hat so much easier. Brilliant!

Last week’s best sellers: this washable silk slip dress and this pretty eyelet linen shirt.

Last month I heard about a new rom-com movie starring Anne Hathaway called The Idea of You. Everyone I talked to loved it and it’s getting pretty good reviews. But, once I found out it was based on a popular novel, I thought I’d read that first. Cause you know, it’s ‘reading season’, right?! 😉

It’s light, fun and perfect for summer. And I’m blowing through it so fast I’ll be watching the movie this weekend!

We love fish and would like to eat more of it, but even so, it’s difficult to find everyday seafood recipes that are delicious and easy. Thinking of trying this Maple Baked Salmon or this Honey Ginger Grilled Salmon with Avocado Salsa.
