Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Summer is here with a vengeance this year! So many hot and sticky days – I may have to renege on my claim that I’m still loving it, haha!

But, my husband is back home again and we’ve got a few days together which I really appreciate now that he works out of town so much. I’ve also been working behind the scenes quite a bit. I’ve got another reveal coming next week, and as of today, the Fall Decor Shop is open on Maison de Cinq! 

I won’t be sharing too much fall here yet, but for those of you who want to get started, you can find lots of my curated favorites in the shop!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

Ooh so excited to share this house! Marie Flanigan is one of my favorite designers, and seeing a designer’s own home is always exciting. Her bathroom above is a dream – see all of her home here.

The new Hearth & Hand line has dropped at Target and it’s so good! I’m loving this moody art print (it’s big, too!), this cake stand is gorgeous (comes in a slab version as well), and this scalloped serving bowl is perfection..

I’m not ready for full-on fall yet, but I do love the softer colors I’m seeing this year, especially for earlier in the season. Check out these gorgeous pale green vases, this charming reversible pillow (love!), and these stunning faux dusty green hydrangeas.

Do you ever shop the home section on H&M? Whenever I do, I’m always pleasantly surprised (I particularly love their storage section). You could channel the French and use this long handled basket to hold baguettes, and this basket with lid could hold many different things, from remotes on a coffee table to storage on the back of the toilet! (both of these are under $20).

And of course, I’ve replenished my favorite yummy fall candle! It smells heavenly, plus the container comes in white again this year so you can have your pumpkin scent but still have it match your decor. (I hate how every pumpkin candle is in an orange container, why?!!)

Last week’s best sellers: my favorite new dishes (so gorgeous and still half off!) and these beautiful etched goblets that are a dupe for the Williams Sonoma ones, at a fraction of the price!

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

Did you know animal print is back for fall? To me, it’s a classic. It seems it used to appear every fall but I feel like it fell out of favor for a few years there. However, it is back! Mint Velvet has this pretty leopard print blouse (above) (they also had a slip skirt but it already sold out!) and this blouse from Anthro is very similar for a bit less. I also love adding a leopard print belt to a simple outfit like jeans with a black top or sweater, and this J.Crew belt I’ve had for years is over 40% off now!

I’m in love with this gorgeous light-weight floral blouse (those colors!) and it could easily work now and into fall.

If leopard is too bold, snake print is another way to go. I have a pair of snake print heeled sandals that I’ve had for years and they are such a great neutral! When I’m wearing a lighter dress or outfit and a black shoe feels too stark, they add just the right amount of flair. My favorite kitten heel comes in both leopard and snake print, and I’m crushing hard on this pretty shoulder bag!

Do you remember how years ago colored jeans were all the rage? It seems they’ve finally brought back the trend, especially in fall shades of beige, camel, and green, and I for one couldn’t be more thrilled! This wide-leg jean in sand is 40% off, this khaki pleated style is so cute (also 40% off), and this green cargo style is 30% off right now.

And this loafer is calling my name! First of all, how cute is it in raffia? Plus, it’s a good bridge and would work for both fall and next spring/summer.

Last week’s best sellers: this cute floral tie top (50% off the sale price!) and this adorable chambray dress.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

We haven’t talked about the Olympics, which is what I’ve mostly been watching. I love everything about the them. There is just something so transformative and beautiful about the whole thing. All these athletes at the top of their game striving to do their best for their country, I find it so inspiring and life-affirming.

And of course, them being in Paris makes it even better! I would imagine it’s pretty special to be there right now.

And I love the U.S. uniforms! They were designed by Ralph Lauren and I’ve never loved one more, at least that I can remember. They are so quintessentially American, and preppy, and “Ralph”ish – love! Sunday is the closing ceremonies, will you be watching?
