Wow, it feels like summer has flown by! School has already started here and just hearing the kids on the playground has reminded me that fall is just around the corner!

Some years I’m dying for fall, and others I’m more about holding onto summer. How about you? Are you still relishing summer days and warm nights, or are you ready for fall?

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This home from Brooke Giannetti is one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen!

 

This week I’ve been planning and shopping for fall just a bit. I’ll be transitioning slowly over the next couple of weeks!

One of the first things I do (besides bringing out a yummy fall candle, of course!) is to switch out my kitchen towels for the season.

My basic towels are linen in a pretty neutral stripe, (it’s not a French kitchen without linen tea towels!) In spring/summer, I add a few blue striped towels, and then those get put away, and I bring out my favorite green striped linen tea towels for fall and into the holidays – the green works really well for both!

I ordered some of these dried gourds to display in bowls on the coffee table and/or kitchen. Last year I displayed real pears but these can work until those are in season, and beyond!

This rustic vase is so good for the price and would look great holding these gorgeous faux dried grasses (my fave and on sale right now!) 

This adorable wicker umbrella holder is now sitting by the door and I love it!

And this scalloped tray might be my favorite find ever! It’s over 50% off, large, and gets great reviews!

A woman on Instagram wrote me to ask what pillow inserts I use for all my throw pillows so I thought I’d share them here as well. To me, they have to be down. The poly fill never look as good and I can spot them across a room! However, all down is not created equal (I once ordered down inserts on Etsy and they were completely flat!) I used to have a hard time finding any that were reasonable, until I found these. They come in multiple sizes and I’ve been very happy with them.

And don’t forget to order 2″ larger than your pillow cover! For 20″ throw pillows I order 22″ inserts, and for 22″ pillows I order 24″. For the bedroom, I order 28″ for the Euro pillows.

Amazon gadgets I’m loving: this flat wall socket that prevents your furniture from having to stick out from the wall (brilliant!) and this hand and dish soap set that keeps your kitchen looking pretty!

Last week’s best sellers: this adorable scalloped white pedestal bowl and this pretty marble cake stand.

 

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

When it comes to fall fashion, I’m all about the plaid blazer. I’m loving this relaxed blazer and this double-breasted blazer is giving major Veronica Beard vibes for much less!

These taupe loafers that I bought last year are back! (they also come in leopard). They’re adorable and so comfy!

This belted denim jacket is so chic, and very similar to one I took to Europe last year. Plus, it’s softer and a little less bulky than mine (40% off right now).

I recently bought this cardigan (above) and I’m in love! It’s cotton and comes in 6 colors, plus the buttons give it so much flair!

More leopard love! These slingback flats are soo cute!

Have you seen these viral Amazon earrings? They’re a perfect dupe for the Bottega Veneta ones and are so good. I love the chunky style!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

You’re going to laugh I’m sure, but I’m watching a great new-to-me show. The one caveat? It’s far from new. In fact, it’s about a decade old, haha! Not sure how I missed it, but Last Tango in Halifax is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

The whole show is so sweet and endearing, I’m completely smitten! (I should know this – I always end up loving any British show!) 

A few other British favorites I’ve loved: One Day, Lovesick, Slow Horses (soo good!), Bad Sisters, Catastrophe

 

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

I need a few new recipes that don’t involve an oven to get me through these last few weeks of hot weather! I’m thinking these BBQ Salmon Tacos look yummy and I could do the salmon portion on the grill.

Also, I love anything peach and am dying to make this Frozen Peach Rosé Slushy! How good does that sound on a warm summer afternoon??
