Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Fall has arrived!! After several weeks of 100° we’ve literally dropped 30 degrees overnight and I’m giddy about it! Yesterday I worked all day with pumpkin candles burning and the windows open, which made me so happy. 🙂

Though we did have an earthquake, which to be clear, I was not giddy about! The epicenter was in Malibu which isn’t that far from us so it felt really strong. But luckily, it was quick and we only had a couple of things fall and nothing broke. Now I need to cross my fingers and toes, knock on wood, and anything else to make sure we don’t have another one any time soon!

And now let’s talk yummy fall finds!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

Mindy Gayer’s projects are fun to look at because they tend to be more modest in size and as such, more relatable than many designer projects. This home is full of charm.

Did you know McGee & Co. did a new collaboration with Loeffler Randall? Yes, they are usually known for their luxury fashion, but now they’ve designed a small fall decor line with Shea McGee and it’s lovely! Standouts: this charming ruffled vase and serving bowl, but the cutest thing ever might be this adorable scalloped butter dish! You can see the full line here.

The warm metals like brass and gold are favorites all year, but they’re especially appropriate this time of year. This set of antiqued brass vases is stunning and such a good price for all three! I’m also loving this fluted brass box (could be used almost anywhere!)

Not sure if I ever shared these before, but Ballard Designs has the most realistic faux pumpkins ever! They’re seriously amazing (and 20% off now)!

This year I’m loving the idea of a dried wreath, and this dried wheat wreath is so good!

I’ve been waiting for this pretty basket to come back in stock, and it finally did!

Amazon finds I’m loving: this faux eucalyptus is the best I’ve ever seen! It drapes perfectly and looks very real. And I’m smitten with this little brass plant mister – it looks so cute sitting on the counter!

Last week’s best sellers: these gold decorative figs (perfect for fall!) and this adorable fall doormat.

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

Whether you call it a field jacket, chore jacket, or barn coat, I’m here for it. I’ve always been drawn to this classic style and I’m loving that they’re back! This one from Old Navy is a steal, love the quilting on this version (30% off), and I’m loving the hardware on this Mango one.

One thing I like to do when fall rolls around is to check out the new jean trends, see what I need, and maybe add one or two in a new style. Both Tuckernuck & Nordstrom did blog posts on the hottest styles right now, with straight, wide leg, and cream coming out on top. I love cream jeans for fall! And skinny jeans are also back which personally I’m very happy about, though they are not the skinny of the early 2000’s – more like ‘slim.’

Straight is still the most popular: I love AG jeans because their straights aren’t super straight, like this pair. J.Crew also has a straight jean with amazing reviews (and they’re on sale for under $100 right now!) These cute cropped wide-legs (above – under $70) come in both ecru and beige, and these straight-legs are pretty in cream. And I own and love these wide legs which are so flattering! Plus, you can order them in several different lengths which I love!

I was breezing around Banana Republic the other day after reading this article about the new creative director of GAP Inc., and happened upon this adorable cardigan! Love, love, love – it reminds me of the über popular Jenny Kayne one for much less!

Also found this pretty suede fall bag! It seems like the perfect size and I love the color.

Last week’s best sellers: this pretty caramel blouse (30% off) and this gorgeous sweater blazer.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

We just started watching a new murder mystery on Netflix called The Perfect Couple. It’s based on a best seller by Elin Hilderbrand. It’s not going to win any awards, but it’s deliciously soapy fun!

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

Pumpkin Season has started!

I’ve had my first Pumpkin Cold Brew at Starbucks, bought a few pumpkin items at Trader Joe’s, and yesterday I made our favorite Pumpkin Walnut Bread. Another family favorite are these Pumpkin Chocolate Cheesecake Bars (above) – they’re amazing! You can thank me later. 😉

  1. Earthquake! Yikes! Glad you are OK. I love looking at your home tour selection this week. It’s very traditional, but in a fresh way. Cute clothes finds too! That LR and McGee butter dish is adorable. If I didn’t just buy the ruffled butter crock from Magnolias….which I love by the way….this would be on my list. Enjoy the cooler weather. We have warmed back up to the mid to upper 80s. Not quite sweater weather yet. Have a great weekend, Sheila!

    1. I love that dish – ordered it immediately upon seeing it! Love the Magnolia one too, we’re just used to stick butter haha! Not quite sweater weather here either but at least it’s not 100 degrees anymore!

      Thanks for stopping by JC!
