Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

I wish I had lots of fun things to report this week but alas, I am still down with back pain which has been a huge bummer. I have yet to photograph my new fall decor (if it goes any longer, it will be too late!) However, I did get started on the guest room re-do!
I’m doing the One Room Challenge again and this time, we’re creating a much-needed guest room! I’ve already made some furniture decisions so that is exciting – more to come in the following weeks!
And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This Charleston new build is one of the most charming homes I’ve seen in a long time!
Before we get started, let’s talk holiday decor! I’m not one to rush each season, but I have to be honest, the last few years some of the things I most wanted were sold out by the time I was ordering – in early November! I’ve also noticed that most of the major online sources I shop at dropped their holiday lines last week!
So having said that, I’m ordering a few of my have-to-have staples before they’re gone again this season, and I wanted to share them with you because I know some of you missed them last year, too!
This garland is my favorite and looks amazingly real as does this simple cedar wreath. They’re worth every penny – I’ve been using them over and over for years now. The garland now comes in 3 lengths rather than only one. And they’ve added a new product, the same garland in a “thick” option! (Kind of dying to try it!) And another garland that people go crazy for is this one. I don’t own it but I’ve seen it and it’s fabulous, too. It’s another one that won’t be around long!
And anything Christmas that you love at McGee & Co. you should think about ordering now. Her things are so popular that they sell out very quickly. See the whole collection here.
Magnolia is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite places to shop! Like Pottery Barn, their items are their own and as such, much more unique than some of the other things we find that are everywhere. This scalloped marble pedestal bowl is so lovely and would look amazing in the kitchen or bath. I’m also loving this gorgeous scalloped oval brass tray (also comes in a scalloped rectangle here). They’re 100% real brass and priced so well! They’d make a great gift, too.
A couple of great fall favorites on sale: my favorite pumpkin candle is 20% off (in the white vessel, too!) This smells so good you guys – it literally makes me hungry when I burn it! It’s the perfect time to stock up. I love these little faux acorns (20% off) and the colors in these gorgeous faux turning maple branches (20% off) are stunning!
Last week’s best sellers: this adorable ‘BOO’ pumpkin stake set and this real touch faux eucalyptus.
THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

First of all, J.Crew is having their fall sale with 40% off almost everything – yay! If you’re in the market for a classic and flattering pair of slacks, these are them (under $80)! A couple of weeks ago I shared their straight leather pant but I’m also a big fan of this slim wide-leg faux leather pant (comes in both brown and black, above), this casual shirt-jacket is super versatile and perfect for cool mornings, and I adore this chunky turtleneck! Perfect French-girl vibes and I love that it’s cotton for those of us who don’t need cashmere for quite awhile!
It’s boot season! Well for me, ‘bootie’ season since I love them and wear them repeatedly once the weather cools down. I’m totally crushing on this stunning brown bootie and this one in brown suede covers two fall trends at once! (but it comes in black as well). I own it in leather and it’s very comfy!
Unless you were living under a rock you probably remember last winter’s cult favorite scarf jacket from Totem. It was super hot, but also extremely pricey so of course, there were lots of imitations around. I actually ordered one from Amazon and it was quite awful. But now, Quince has performed their magic and seriously, theirs is soo good! Of course, it’s 100% wool which no other imitations were and it comes in more colors than the original. I’ve already seen it sell out once!
Colored sneakers have been trending for awhile, and I’m totally crushing on this pair. A lot of the colors have sold out at Nordstrom, but they’re still available in most of the colors at Dolce Vita and Anthropologie. I especially love the brown (of course!), the silver, the red, and the ivory (it’s seriously hard to choose they’re so cute!)
Last week’s best sellers: this faux leather jacket and these straight-leg faux leather pants.
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Have you guys seen Nobody Wants This? Just started it last night and I love it! It’s so cute, and Kristen Bell is adorable!
Remember I shared that I had preordered two books recently? Results are mixed. Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty has been pretty disappointing (so sad as I normally love her writing!) but I’m loving Ina Garten’s memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens. Hoping all my future preorders aren’t a 50/50 success rate!
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

Pumpkin baked goods are admittedly a weakness, but since they’re loaded with Vitamin A they’re healthy right?! 😉 These Pumpkin Cheesecake Crumble Bars (above) are to-die-for. Seriously good!!
And I’m dying to try this Pumpkin Banana Bread. I have a feeling that combo could be delicious!
RANDOM THOUGHTS

I so enjoyed this video tour of Jennifer Garner’s home feature in Architectural Digest. Side note: her home was designed by my favorite duo, Steve and Brooke Giannetti!

SO sorry to hear your back is still bothering you. The more you rest the better it will be. Hopefully, by next week. Gives you more time to read, right?
I love the charm of the new build! There is so much inspiration! Also thank you for the cedar garland links and encouragement to order early. Haaaaha, I’m still debating as I’m looking at the Magnolia real touch garland too. I’d better not take too long or they will all be sold out! Also, have you seen the Studio Mcgee Christmas items? They will be made available for purchase on Oct. 7th. I’ve got my eye on the sweetest knit, cream, scallopped Christmas stocking for my grandbabe. I’m with you. We’ve got to shop early!
It was fun to see the tour of Jennifer Garner’s beautiful home….an entertainer’s dream but also very cozy. Thanks for putting a great Friday Favorites together this week even with not feeling the best. Get better!
Thank you JC for the well wishes JC – that is so kind! It’s slowly getting there, I’m just impatient! And yes, order early! I too have my eye on the Target line coming in Oct 7th and will be sharing some of those next week (of course, if they’re not all sold out haha!) Love Jennifer’s home and her! She is a national treasure.
Happy weekend JC and as always, thank you for the support! 🙂
