Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Happy November!

We’re back from our trip to upstate New York (if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen some of what I shared), and of course, the minute I got home I immediately felt behind! We enjoyed some gorgeous fall weather, beautiful drives, and quaint towns. And my back held out! I ended up being so glad we went.

I’ll be starting my holiday decorating this weekend and then next week, we’re sharing our first Gift Guide of the season. These are some of my favorite posts to write so keep an eye out for them!

And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

Loving this European-inspired laundry room! See the whole house here.

These stunning gold trays are a steal!! (and would make a great gift, too!)

This adorable (and viral!) bottle brush centerpiece is 20% off and soo cute! If you love it, snag it, because it’s sure to sell out!

Another sure sell out is these 12″ cypress wreaths. Perfect for a smaller window, bedroom, or the backs of dining chairs.

This checkered stocking is soo charming! Love, love, love it – and it sold out last year in the natural. (now on sale!)

When I first started displaying birch logs, I found it so difficult to find an attractive log holder so I’m always excited when I find a good one! This iron wire basket is pretty and on sale, and we have this rattan log holder and love it.

This cedar wreath is an amazing dupe for the much more expensive McGee & Co. wreath. I saw another blogger share it on IG and it’s so good!

And lastly, if you didn’t catch this week’s post where I revealed my Christmas color palette for this year, this recent purchase should be a big hint! 😉 AND this is the exact same ribbon McGee & Co was selling that’s now sold out!

Last week’s best sellers: this faux cedar swag and this cute mistletoe swag.

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

The most brilliant turtleneck and slip dress set – gives you the ‘sweater over a slip skirt’ look for way less! (and I love the burgundy!)

And this weekend is J.Crew’s Friends and Family event which means 30% off almost everything! A few things I’m eyeing are these slim wide-leg corduroys, this gorgeous cotton turtleneck (perfect for the weather now and under $60!), and this cable-knit version of their classic roll-neck sweater.

Cardigans are really having a moment which I love because I find them so easy and comfortable to throw on. Love this cardigan at a great price, this oversized version is on sale, and this pointelle cardigan (above) is a bit of a splurge but sooo gorgeous! Love how feminine it is!

These jeans with the patch pockets are seriously cute – and that price!!

Burgundy is hotter than ever – these adorable Adidas sneakers have gone viral and are selling out like crazy! I only found them here, but I also love this Dolce Vita sneaker that’s very similar (and available!) LOVE them both for fall!

Last week’s best sellers: this gorgeous faux-fur lady jacket and these gorgeous suede booties (2nd week in a row!)

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Season 2 of The Diplomat debuted last night. We weren’t able to watch as we were at a little Halloween party, but I loved the first season and can’t wait to start this one. And Allison Janney is joining the cast and she’s always fabulous!

Also, if you’ve never seen it, Keri Russell’s previous show, The Americans, is incredible.

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

I’ve shared with you before how much I love Alison Roman and her cookbooks, Nothing Fancy and Dining In. I get her newsletter and this week she shared a chili recipe she calls Gorgeous Chili (which looks amazing!) You can make it the original way with dried beans you have to soak, etc., or opt for her “short version.” Either way, I’m in!

Oh, and she has a yummy cornbread recipe to go with it, too!

RANDOM THOUGHTS

If you follow the designer Mark D. Sikes then you may already know he’s building a custom home in Ojai, California. But I just found out! And the best part is he has an Instagram account where you can follow along with all the details!

  1. I really love the JCrew sweaters you selected, Sheila. I’m picking up the cedar wreath from Target today for my mudroom. I’ll add to it with some ribbon, bells, and layering. So cute and a great price! Today’s house tour has so much inspiration for my own home. I’m going to pour over each picture when I have more time. Thank you! So glad your trip was wonderful and your back better!

    1. Ooh so glad you’re getting the little wreath – I need to order some as well! And I’m so glad you loved the home tour. I’m going to go back and pin and look in more detail, too – so inspiring!

Thanks so much for all your kindness, well wishes, and for following along! It’s always appreciated. 🙂

      1. I picked up the wreath today! Great price, but I will say it needs a little “foofing” with some added cedar picks etc. Still worth it and will be fun to make it match my decor.
        Happy weekend!

        1. Haha well I figured as it is pretty inexpensive! I’ll be doing plenty of ‘foofing’ myself this weekend! 😉
