After getting so behind and then losing Hudson, I hadn’t really done any holiday decorating prior to this week, which is pretty late for me. But I finally started and it turned out to be very uplifting. So, this week I’ve been in full-on holiday mode trying to get everything done! I decided to start with the family room because I knew it would be an easier job than the living room, which has a much larger tree!
Fingers crossed I’ll be sharing our first Christmas tour this weekend!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR
This home is so sweet, especially when it’s decorated for the holidays!
Since I’m in full holiday-mode over here you can guess what I’ve been crushing on/buying/drooling over this week!
These velvet bow stockings are about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen – love!
I was in Pottery Barn this week picking up some ornaments and I saw this bundle of faux juniper greenery and fell in love! It looks way better than the photos, and the little blue berries just make it! I also spied these little trees and I’m smitten (they light up!)
I follow Nancy Meyers’ daughter on Instagram (she’s remodeling a house and has great taste). She recommended this gorgeous wreath and it’s now on sale. A great price and free shipping for such a high-end wreath!
Looking for a better way to hang stockings? This marble stocking holder is stunning and so unique!
Have you guys ever tried growing paperwhites? I’ve done it twice now and it’s so fun! Unfortunately the only place I found to buy them from was in Santa Barbara, but now I see they have the bulbs on Amazon for way less than I paid here! This is the perfect time to start as they take 4-6 weeks to grow. Or, if you love the look but don’t want to sweat it, go with faux!
McGee is having 25% off select items, including these pretty wood pedestal boards. I’ve ordered the small size for the kitchen and can’t wait to get it!
I also found out Quince carries scented candles! Is there nothing they don’t carry?! This Balsam & Fir candle has pretty packaging and is highly rated. I’m excited to try it.
Amazon find of the week! Every year I hang the garland on my stairwell with monofilament but it’s a hassle and kind of hard to do. Just found out about these green fabric twist ties – sooo brilliant!

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING
Holiday parties are one of my favorite things – whether I’m going to one or hosting it. For more casual gatherings and events, my go-to outfit when I want to look pulled together but not too dressed up is a dressy blouse or a blazer with jeans.
This is a great basic black blazer (30% off right now) or check out this less expensive option (on sale for under $100).
And when I want a little more oomph, I make that blazer a velvet one! I love the look of black velvet with jeans. If you don’t have a black velvet jacket, get one stat! They are an amazing basic and can be worn for years and years. My current black velvet blazer is literally 7 or 8 years old and looks as good as it did the day I bought it.
Here are some other velvet blazers I’m loving: the one I just bought (I bought it in burgundy, but it also comes in black), this one is stunning, or this one (now on sale for under $100!)
These jeans are my go-to (not too straight, not too skinny – and they’re 25% off!) , and these are a great price and on sale (plus they come in 4 washes).
Dressy blouses/tops can sometimes be hard to find but I’m in love with this chiffon ruffle-neck top 30% off), this ruffle-front top is adorable (some colors 40% off), and this sheer button-up is so elegant (some colors 50% off).
Add some festive earrings like these classic pavé hoops, or these adorable pavé bow earrings (on sale) – love! and you’re all set.
Any combo of these are perfect for dinner parties, a holiday lunch, a cookie exchange, or even a casual Christmas Eve!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING
Bad Sisters was one of my favorite shows in the last few years, and now season 2 is here after a two year wait! If you never watched the first one, it is so good and great fun!
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING
Since Thanksgiving is on the horizon, I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you. I host every year and usually do the same staples, with maybe a few tweaks here and there. On the menu is this yam recipe, this amazing cranberry sauce (people rave), this spinach gratin (seriously good!), and this out-of-this-world stuffing! (I skip the sausage)
And for dessert, this Pumpkin Cheesecake (except I use a graham cracker crust) and this Pumpkin Banana Mousse Tart are my two personal favorites.
