Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, movies, podcasts, fashion finds and more! And though it won’t all be French, some of it definitely will!
It’s been a busy week here on Maison de Cinq! I’ve been sharing Gift Guides plus a post all about hosting Thanksgiving!
I’ve also begun decorating for Christmas this week! I know – it’s early. But as a blogger I need to get my tours out early so that I’m providing inspiration for you!
And now let’s talk Friday Favorites – where I share everything from a great decor find, to a favorite movie, recipe, or podcast, to a wonderful thing to wear – anything that strikes me as interesting or fun or that you might love, too! 😉
THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR
One of my all-time favorite images from one of my all-time favorite houses by Cameron Mobley.
You guys have been loving what I’m sharing lately, both in the Holiday Gift Guides and in Friday Favorites.
(Did you check out the guides? So many good ideas!)
You all went crazy for these faux paperwhites, my wood paper towel holder, this adorable trinket dish, this cute French- themed doormat (20% off now), my favorite lit Juniper trees, and these Blue Spruce tabletop trees. And this cozy throw that is so reasonable and the exact same as the Pottery Barn one was my number one seller (I have it in 3 colors!)
If you missed the guides, I’ve got Mens & Womens, as well as guides by category. If you love home decor or are buying for those who do, be sure to check out the Home/Hostess guide as well as my personal favorite, the Gift Guide for French Lovers – that’s us! 😉
THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING
As for what fashion you’ve been loving lately, this gorgeous robe was the number one bestseller (and the one I’m wishing for!), next are these slippers (30% off now) (they sell out every year), this adorable sweater (30% off now), and this down jacket.
And also these cute jute cosmetic bags (another great gift), this necklace and this reversible tote are popular, too!
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO
Sadly I haven’t been doing much reading lately as I’ve just been too busy. But I’ll get back to it! In the meantime, I’ve been watching at night while I’m writing or working…
We started the show Maid and we’re loving it. It’s an amazing story of hardship and ultimately, resilience. It’s based on a well-received book, which apparently I missed!
A couple months ago I shared with you what a huge fan I am of British shows, The Crown and Bridgerton are two of my favorites. But now I’ve recently started The Bodyguard – really good, edge-of-your-seat stuff! And I’ve heard a lot about Black Mirror. Have you seen it? Thinking it might be next.
THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING
We’ve been trying some fall cocktails the last few weekends so that I can pick one to serve on Thanksgiving. I love to serve one cocktail that can be prepared ahead so I don’t have to mix drinks all night (one of my Thanksgiving tips).
This one was really good, want to try this one, and how good does this look?
RANDOM THOUGHTS
This Instagram account is so inspiring.
My mom was diagnosed with dementia last year, which is never good news. But for me, it’s definitely made me look at my health habits and what I can do to prevent it as much as possible. This article is food for thought (no pun intended).
Are you set for Thanksgiving? If not, be sure to check out my post with 10 tips and hacks to make it your best ever!
And when it comes to Christmas, this is THE BEST Christmas album ever!
Happy Friday!

I always look forward to your Friday post! If you love British shows, check out ‘Call the Midwife’ on Netflix. I’m addicted to it! Enjoy your weekend of decorating.
I’ve heard of that! Adding it to the list! 😉
Thanks!
Sheila
That was an interesting article about aging. Glad you posted it.
I’m so glad you found it informative!
Happy Friday!

Regarding the article you mentioned….Do track down the current National Geographic “Blue Zones: The Science of Living Longer”, which is published every few years with updates by the same author. Packed full of good information, as is his book (Amazon). The magazine issue is available at most grocery stores, CVS and etc. Well worth purchasing.
Oh that’s great information! Thanks Beth. I’ve heard of Blue Zones but would love to learn more. Thanks!
