Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

This week has been a whirlwind of weather and fires. Just when I thought the two big ones were on their way out, on Wednesday another one started. Though it was quite far from us, weirdly we were getting all the smoke!
So even though the Palisades/Malibu area is actually closer, I never had any bad air quality until this week. Really hoping this one will be out soon – and then we have rain coming! I am giddy about it as we need it so badly (just praying no mud slides happen for all of those areas that burned).
I also wanted to say thank you to all of you who purchased something through the blog or LTK last week – we donated the proceeds to two charities, the Red Cross and World Central Kitchen. 🙂
And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

Designer Josh Young is someone I follow on Instagram and love his style. This tour of his own home is so charming! His first book came out last year.
I’ve been on a bit of an organizing kick and have been shopping for baskets for a few areas – they are my favorite way to store things out of sight and add texture at the same time!
This set of 3 baskets is so pretty and versatile, and they are half what they are on McGee & Co! So excited – such a great find!
Magnolia has released some of their new spring line and it’s so good! Especially smitten with this rattan vase (love!) and this scalloped marble pedestal bowl – stunning!
I’ve also been inspired to bring a little Valentine’s decor in. I don’t go too crazy, but a touch of it is certainly a happy thing during these long, cold winter days! Add some cheer to the kitchen with these cute heart mugs (on sale) or this if you prefer more subtle messaging, this creamy mug is perfect!
Or how amazing is this artisan heart object (love!), and these carved hearts might be my favorite Valentine’s Day decor ever! (so cute displayed in a bowl). Either could definitely be around for much longer than February!
And one of my favorite things to do for Valentine’s Day is to display something out front like a fun doormat like this adorable one or this charming XO door swag – I’ve never seen anything like it!
Last week’s best sellers: this cute doormat and this pretty floral throw pillow.
THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

You remember how hot red was for spring and fall last year? Well it seems it’s still here in a big way! I love the idea of a pop of red for brightening up the winter doldrums, especially in a coat! Love this cropped red trenchcoat and this double-breasted wool coat is 35% off! A friend has this cute cardigan, and I love the cut and neckline of this cashmere sweater (great price, too!)
If you’re like me and want a cute Valentine’s themed top (or need a gift), I’m sharing a few cute ones I found! Love this sweatshirt! I love that it’s not technically Valentine’s wear and could be worn any time (plus, it’s French!) Also love this very cute sweater (and the price is so good!)
These jewelry pieces would make a great gift for a daughter, mother or sister (or yourself!) This heart station necklace is simple and so chic, and this heart pendant necklace is absolutely stunning – and something I’d wear everyday!
Something I’ve been seeing a lot of? Brown jeans. I love colored jeans and brown is perfect for winter! These wide-leg jeans are a lovely color (on sale) and these chocolate-colored straight jeans (above) are also marked down!
Last week’s best sellers: my favorite cashmere tee shirt and this cute striped sweater (still on sale!)
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano together in a new show? Yes, please! No Good Deed is a mystery by the creator of Dead to Me, which we loved. We just started watching but we like it so far. A twisty black comedy.
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

This week we tried a new recipe and it was soo yummy! However, I can’t actually find it to link for you! It’s by Half Baked Harvest and it’s from her new cookbook, but I actually found it in People magazine. I’m linking this Salmon with Creamed Spinach & Parmesan Sauce, but just know it’s not exactly the same.
Ours had no cream cheese, but it added 1/4 cup chopped basil and 1 Tbsp. dijon mustard. Personally, I think both of these ingredients added lots of flavor and we really loved it. This was super easy and dinner-party worthy!

Sheila,
Always love your posts. I look forward to it each week. I saw you just replaced your bed pillow. What brand did you get? I can’t tell you how many we have tried but we have not found the right one yet. So frustrating. Thanks Marjorie
Hi Marjorie! Sorry I didn’t answer this sooner – it was in my spam for some reason! Anyway, we recently got new down pillows from Boll & Branch and we are really happy with them! They come in 3 levels of firmness which I liked. We ordered down but they also come in down alternative.
