Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

As you read this we are off to Seattle (both of our boys live there). Sadly it will be raining the whole time but we’ll make the best of it! 

And I’m getting so ready for spring! I literally can’t wait to clean out the garden, plant flowers in my pots, and feel some sunshine. We’re not there yet on the outside, but I’m certainly getting there on the inside. 🙂

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

Love that this home feels charming, lived-in, and not overly ‘decorated’!

 

Some of my favorite ways to freshen up for the spring season!

Add an adorable doormat like this spring greetings doormat or this floral one (comes in multiple sizes). 

Or don a new spring wreath on the front door (we need one)! This lavendula wreath is stunning and on sale (comes in 2 sizes), and this lovely eucalyptus wreath is also on sale and gets great reviews.

Since spring is all about florals, I’m sharing a few of my favorite vases. These new glass vases are just classic and gorgeous and perfect! If you prefer not to see stems, I’m loving these cute faceted white vases. I’m always using pitchers but thinking these would be a nice change!

I mentioned last year that I was dying to try linen sheets but I never did. However, Quince now carries lots of home items including linen sheets, all at their amazing prices. Everyone who uses them tells me how much they love them! Ordered them and I’ll report back.

If you’re celebrating Easter (or simply love bunnies like I do!), these terracotta bunny sculptures are a must-have. I bought mine a couple of years ago but they’ve since added multiple sizes. I’ve used mine both indoors and on our covered porch – I love keeping them out all spring!

Cutest random find! If you need a sconce for a spot in your home, it doesn’t get more charming than this wicker shaded one! Love! (and this brand is the same one who makes our dining room chandelier so I know it’s good quality).

Last week’s best sellers: my absolute favorite faux stems and this rustic bowl I own and love (it’s back!)

 

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

I’m loving this linen wrap dress (above) – soo versatile! It could go to anything from a brunch, to a shower, to dinner.

This denim pencil skirt looks flattering and so versatile! It reminds me of one I had about 20 years ago that I wore and wore.

Do you love the chunkier 80s/90s style earrings that are so hot now? I wasn’t sure at first but they’re grown on me, and they’re a nice change from my simple studs and hoops. This is the style taking the internet by storm (they’re literally everywhere at every price point!), these are cool and interesting (and on sale), and these are a classic choice.

I like to use a white or light-colored handbag for spring so I’m on the hunt. Love this versatile taupe handbag (I shared a navy version a few weeks back), I almost bought this stone-colored bag last year (love the size), and I’m madly in love with this cream handbag!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

I’m pretty sure I shared The Night Agent (Netflix) back when I first discovered it, and now, the second season is here! I really enjoyed the first season so I’m excited to start this one.

Also, have you checked out Meghan Markle’s new cooking show, With Love, Meghan (Netflix)? I shared it back in January because it was supposed to start then, but it was delayed due to the LA fires. Well it debuted last week and it’s already in the top ten! Though it’s not a whole lot different than other cooking/gardening shows, I love her personality and enthusiasm and the aesthetics are A+. It’s shot in a house in Montecito – super cute and the gardens are lovely! (I love her style, too!)

And they just revealed that there will be a second season this fall!

 

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

Lately I’ve been thinking about how I want to start baking again. I used to bake something at least weekly when the kids all lived here, but I’ve really gotten out of the habit! I’m a big chocolate lover so I thought I’d share some of our favorites.

This Chocolatiest Chocolate Banana Bread I shared on the blog a couple of years ago is out-of-this-world good (my husband requests it)! Last year I made these Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies that are a dupe for the viral Levain cookies in NYC and they are amazing. This Chocolate Hazelnut Tart is a favorite for dinner parties because it’s very easy to make and delicious (if you can’t access it there you can also find it here). And for a classic chocolate cake, I turn to Ina Garten’s Beatty’s Chocolate Cake. Everyone loves it!
