Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, movies, podcasts, fashion finds and more! And though it won’t all be French, some of it definitely will!
Hi friends! It’s full-on holiday mode over here this week as I’ve spent the better part of the week setting up the tree and decorating the house – I’ve been cranking the Christmas tunes and decorating like crazy! If you didn’t get a chance to see it, I shared my French-inspired living room tour on Monday.
And now for Friday Favorites, where I share everything from a great decor find, to a favorite movie, recipe, or podcast, to a wonderful thing to wear – anything that strikes me as interesting or fun or that you might love, too! 😉
THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR
This amazing home belongs to an antiques dealer (and it shows!) Tour the whole home here.
Since I’m in full holiday-mode over here you can guess what I’ve been crushing on/buying/drooling over this week! I do re-use my decor from year to year, but I also like to add a few new pieces to keep it fresh. I bought several of these cute brass lanterns (I got the square xs and the square small – which isn’t small at all!), also added this cute Noel pillow (how did I miss this before??), this garland is on the FR tree (it sold out last year), and I’m in love with this log holder! It’s on its way and I can’t wait for it to arrive.
And I don’t start any holiday season without ordering a few of my favorite candles! This one and this one are my all-time faves (I usually order several because they sell out – fast!)
I’m also in need of a different tree skirt and I think this one with the tassels is adorable, also eyeing this one, and this one, and I love this one! They are surprisingly hard to find in stores!
THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING
Now that life is somewhat returning to normal, I’ve got a few casual gatherings coming up and I’m excited to put on something other than comfy sweats, haha! My go-to outfit when I want to look pulled together but not too dressed up is a pretty blouse, jeans and a classic black blazer.
This jacket is perfect for almost anything, I also love this one, and this one!! So cute and can be dressed up or down. These jeans are my go-to, also love these, and these, and these are a great price. Blouses can be hard to find but this is a perfect classic, this is so beautiful, just ordered this one, this one is a gorgeous color, and have this one in my cart. Tie it together with a suede bootie (love these or these). Any combo of these are perfect for dinner parties, a holiday lunch, a cookie exchange, or even a casual Christmas Eve!
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO
I said I was going to get back into reading and I finally did! I just finished The Wife Between Us (a real page-turner), and I just started The Couple Next Door, which comes highly recommended.
Last weekend we were really craving a romantic comedy and coming up empty. Then I found out my daughter’s boyfriend (who was joining us) had never seen When Harry Met Sally and since it’s probably my favorite comedy of all-time that’s all it took for me to yell “That’s it! We’re watching that!” He loved it. Of course. It’s perfect. 😉
THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING
Since Thanksgiving is on the horizon, I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you. I host every year and usually do the same staples, with maybe a few tweaks here and there. On the menu is this yam recipe, this amazing cranberry sauce (people rave), and this out-of-this-world stuffing! (I skip the sausage)
And for dessert, this Pumpkin Cheesecake (except I use a graham cracker crust) and this Pumpkin Banana Mousse Tart are my two personal favorites. And you have to serve it on a cake pedestal (it makes any dessert taste better – promise!) 😉
RANDOM THOUGHTS
Love this gorgeous Instagram account that documents a young family living in a 500 year old cottage.
If you’re a lover of holiday music like me, you have to own Michael Bublé’s Christmas album. Hands down the best Christmas album in decades. 🙂

I especially love the JCREW ruffled blouses! Great colors! And who knew about the beaded garland? Thanks! This could have so many other uses in addition to the tree.
Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating, Sheila!
