Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Another week has flown by – how is that possible? I’m already seeing children going back to school and talk of fall decor on Instagram!
Progress on the house is inching along. After a lull the last two weeks, painting is starting on Monday – yay! And I’ve made all my decisions regarding the kitchen except for cabinet colors which is vexxing me for sure! I find paint to be the hardest decorating element to get right, and this week I spent countless hours painting samples for all the interiors. Now next week I’ll start on the cabinets – wish me luck!
And now let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This new-to-me designer built her dream home – so many gorgeous touches!
I’m not ready for full-on fall yet, but I do love the softer colors, especially for earlier in the season. I own and love this faux dried grass (it doesn’t shed and I can use it over and over again), the colors in this wool rug are stunning, and this wreath is so pretty!
McGee & Co restocked my favorite purchase from there ever – this stunning scalloped vase! And this crock would make such a cute canister in the kitchen!
While looking for fall decor for the shop I found this charming painted vase (it just might have to come home to the new house!)
Pottery Barn has added some new furniture pieces that look vintage: this beautiful marble-topped dresser and this 4-drawer dresser (there are other pieces in both of these lines). So good!
Last week’s best sellers: these scalloped planters (on major sale!) and these pretty marble trays.
THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

How about a little bridge between those tank tops and shorts and full-on fall? I’m loving things that can work now and later!
Red seems to be continuing its reign as the hottest color of the season, every season, and I’m loving the new pieces from Mint Velvet! This sweater (above) is delicious, I adore this scalloped trim shirt, and this top is so charming and unique!
This short-sleeve cardigan is one of my favorite pieces for in-between seasons, as is this cute sweater in a yummy cocoa-plum color.
One thing I’m really needing for fall is a new handbag so I’ve been on the hunt. I will be honest, sometimes it’s a struggle as bags are just so expensive now. But, this year is different. I found several gorgeous, expensive-looking bags that aren’t! I just ordered this shoulder bag. Love the size, the luxurious suede, everything about it! (comes in a larger size here). And this slouchy shoulder bag is another great option!
If you’re needing new jeans, look no further than this flattering denim trouser! I love the pockets, they get stellar reviews, and they’re 30% off the sale price, making them $90!
And I have a great beauty find to share! One of my best friends just started using this all-over body moisturizer with retinols and she said her skin on her arms and elsewhere is definitely less crepey!! #orderedimmediately!
Last week’s best sellers: this classic waxed jacket (half off!) and these cute cotton pajamas.
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Last week we watched the new Billy Joel documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes and it was soo good! I’ve always been a big fan but my husband who was initially less enthusiastic kept saying “He’s so talented!” (He’s also been playing his greatest hits playlist ever since we saw it! 😉 )
It’s quite long – there are two parts – but I loved finding out so much about his upbringing, his early life, and his first marriage.
And of course revisiting so many classic songs was just so enjoyable! A must watch.
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

This Summer Pasta with Zucchini, Ricotta, and Basil (above) is calling my name!

Sounds like you are on design overload! But, it is so fun to be creating an entirely new kitchen! You’ll get it right. No pressure!
Oh my gosh, YES! I hate to complain but it is an overload for sure. We are under such time pressure which is making it much less fun than it should be, haha! I’ll be happy when it’s all done! 🙂
Happy weekend JC!

Best wishes for finding the perfect paint color for the cabinets! It is as you say “the most vexing” part of renovation!
It’s the worst!! But thank you – fingers crossed!
Sheila
wishing you luck on the paint choice for your cabinets. I agree that choosing paint is one of the most difficult things. And changing paint on cabinets isn’t as easy as changing walls!
NO, not as easy so I better make it right!! Thanks Donna and Happy Friday!
