Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Well, it definitely feels like fall here! Other than a couple of warm days earlier this week, we’ve had lots of rainy days and gloomy skies. And though I’m not complaining, it is going to take some getting used to! I really wanted more of a fall than Southern California gets, but I do miss the crisp, open window weather we would sometimes have!
In other news, it feels like progress is happening over here! Painting is finally done with the exception of the front door, we’ve decided not to re-spray our kitchen cabinets which feels like a relief, the marble for the counters is being cut, and I actually put a few items in drawers in the kitchen! I swear it felt like we needed to pop some champagne!
And, if you missed it last week, the Maison de Cinq Holiday Shop is open!! If you didn’t get a chance to see it, you can shop by category here! And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This Southern Colonial home has gorgeous details! Be sure to check out the kitchen.
I was in a little boutique the other day and saw these woven utensil holders that I had seen online, and they are so cute in person!! They’re now on sale, too!
I saw this spindle leg end table in a living room by one of my favorite designers and I’m smitten! It’s solid wood, so versatile, and that price is so good!
Since I have hardwood floors everywhere now I’m on the lookout for rugs for all the bedrooms. The area rug I have in my bedroom is still one of my all-time favorites and it’s on sale right now (I might do it in another space), and this pretty one is an amazing price for all wool!
I’m sure you guys know one of the things I’ve been working on for the new house is the lighting, especially ceiling lighting in all the bedrooms. A sweet follower asked me on Instagram which flush mounts I ended up loving/keeping so thought I’d share here, too. I adore this wicker one we put in the guest room (amazing price!), I splurged on this gorgeous brass one for the entryway, and ended up with this one in my office. It’s kind of a dupe for this stunner that I loved but didn’t want to splurge on!
Both Studio McGee and Hearth & Hand dropped their Christmas lines at Target this week. I didn’t do a deep dive but I did see this scalloped wicker tree skirt! Love it – and it looks like items at 2x this price! (they did a similar one last year and it sold out!) And how adorable is this brass perpetual advent calendar?!
Looking for a bathmat that’s prettier than your average bathmat? This one is so lovely and comes in 3 colors.
Last week’s best sellers: this gorgeous set of baskets and my favorite garland.
THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

Slim, cropped pants are all the rage right now and I’ve been anxious to try them. I ordered both these pull-on pants and these zip-ups (above) to try. I love that they are flattering and can be dressed up or down – and they’re not jeans!
I have a soft spot for cable knit sweaters and it seems this year they’re back, and I couldn’t be happier! This cotton version is 25% off (love it with the scarf!), this cotton cardigan I bought last year is great, or if you love cashmere, try this one (25% off right now!)
Just ordered these highly rated skinny jeans – now only $39! I’m happy to have some skinnies again, especially for going out and with specific shoes.
I love booties and wear them pretty much all fall and winter. This pair is a favorite as they are so comfortable, come in lots of colors, and don’t break the bank. This pair is slightly dressier and is giving Vince vibes for a much better price!
Fuzzy, comfy slippers that also have arch support and help plantar fascitis? Yes, please! A friend recommended them and I really like them.
Need a dress for an upcoming wedding or event? I don’t see how you could get much better than this one which looks flattering and is an amazing price!
Last week’s best sellers: these kick-out jeans and this gorgeous oversize cashmere crewneck.
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

New shows I’ve read about that we’ve started or are about to: The Lowdown starring Ethan Hawke (above) sounds great, The Woman in Cabin 10, a mystery starring Keira Knightley, and Rivals, a soapy drama.
We’re also enjoying season 4 of The Bear as well as season 4 of The Morning Show. And this weekend we’re hoping to get to an actual theater to see the new Julia Roberts movie!
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING
Pumpkin baked goods are admittedly a weakness, but since they’re loaded with Vitamin A they’re healthy right?! 😉
Here are some family favorites: this is my go-to Easy Pumpkin Bread, we also love these Pumpkin Chocolate Cheesecake Bars, and these Pumpkin Cheesecake Crumble Bars (above) are to-die-for. Seriously good!!
And I’m dying to try this Pumpkin Banana Bread. I have a feeling that combo could be delicious!

Hey Sheila, Love your posts, esp Friday Favorites! I am just curious, because I love California so much (I live on east coast in NC), would you share to which State you’ve moved? Wherever it is, I hope you love it and your new home.
Hi Kelia! I’m still in California! Moved from Southern to Northern and yes, the climate is quite different!
Thank you so much for your kind words – I really appreciate it and love hearing from readers!
Happy Friday!
