Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Hopefully you’re not sick of my house updates, haha! The kitchen is almost done. Yesterday the backsplash went in, and then today/Monday is appliances, plumbing, and electrical. I’ll actually be able to cook in there next week!

Lots happening on the blog here next week, too! Fingers crossed I’ll be starting my holiday decorating (this might be wishful thinking 😉 ), and we’re sharing our first Gift Guide of the season! These are some of my favorite posts to write so keep an eye out for them!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This home is a beautiful example of modern mixed with English country charm.

We need a new Christmas tree as the previous ones are too tall for our ceilings here. Have you heard of this viral tree? I’ve seen it on Instagram dozens of times and I have to say, I’m smitten! The twinkle lights are gorgeous, it gets amazing reviews, and the price is right! Thinking of ordering it to see!

I’m in love with this pretty fluted flameless candle! The shape is so good.

For holiday entertaining I love this gorgeous antique brass tray (would make a great gift, too!)

Anthro is having a big sale, including some holiday favorites of mine! These natural-looking wreaths and garlands hardly ever go on sale and right now they are 30% off (I use them both every year)! And I love this faux Juniper berry wreath (also 30% off).

I’ve been searching for rugs for all the bedrooms before everyone comes home for Thanksgiving. Rugs tend to be the hardest thing I ever buy, and for the guest rooms there’s the added challenge of not wanting to spend a lot. I bought this one to try out and ended up loving it! Honestly, I could have put it everywhere, but ended up buying one for my office and a runner for our primary closet. One down – three more to go!

And since we’re at the end of the month, here are our best sellers for October! The number one seller was this cool book embosser (love this!) You also loved this beautiful wool rug, this gorgeous basket set, this set of mini wreaths (now 20% off), and this gorgeous flush mount light.

 

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

This week is J.Crew’s Friends and Family event which means 30% off almost everything! A couple of things I’m eyeing are this adorable argyle cardigan and these super flattering jeans (above) – love! Also included in the sale is cashmere at 20% off which is rare! So glad because I was able to re-order this cashmere relaxed tee I love. I bought it last year but it had somehow disappeared in the move! 🙁

Great bootie alert! Saw this heeled bootie (over 40% off) on a friend. She paired them with these jeans and a chunky sweater and the whole outfit screamed casual chic!

I saw a pair of chocolate brown suede loafers on Pinterest a few weeks back and ever since then I can’t get them out of my head! I love the rich color and they’re so perfect for fall and winter. Love this gorgeous pair (on sale – limited sizes though) and this very similar pair is on sale for even less!

October’s Best Sellers: this oversized cashmere crewneck was the number one seller of the month! Other favorites were these comfortable booties, these mid-rise kick-out jeans, this beautiful cardigan, and this adorable Fair Isle sweater.

 

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Did you guys see the JFK Jr documentary, American Prince? It came out this summer and I had intended to watch it but then forgot. Last weekend we finally got around to it and really enjoyed it. This three-part doc covers his early life, his marriage to Carolyn Bessette, and of course, their tragic deaths. 

There’s also a movie about John and Carolyn’s whirlwind romance coming next year called American Love Story. Can’t wait!

 

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

As things cool down, I’m always up for yummy, cozy one-pot meals. Some of our favorites are this Pot Roast with Vegetables and this Chicken with Forty Cloves of Garlic recipe.

I also stumbled on this One Hour One Pot Coq au Vin (above). I’ve always wanted to make it but it usually takes hours so this one is super tempting!
