Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Well, I have already not met my goal of one area to organize per week, and we’re only halfway into January! But, I did randomly switch to doing the kitchen for no reason, so there’s that! This week I re-organized some of the drawers and pantry shelves and it’s working so much better. I’ll be sharing more details about what I used next week!

And now let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

I shared this utterly charming butler’s pantry on Instagram last week and got such a great response that I thought I should share it here, too! See the entire Dutch Colonial home here.

I’m crushing on rattan this week! I can’t help it – I absolutely adore baskets. And they are my favorite way to store things out of sight and add texture at the same time.

These rattan baskets on wheels could not be cuter, and they come in 3 sizes. I’m thinking of getting the smallest one for my office. Also love this set of 3 baskets that’s a great price and so versatile!

The scalloped edge of this adorable rattan bowl (25% off now) make it special. Would look so cute holding fruit in the kitchen!

Magnolia has released some of their new spring line and it’s so good! I’m completely smitten with these scalloped rattan canisters (sure to sell out) and this lovely blue utensil crock that would brighten up any kitchen.

While looking for a mint julep style cup to use for my office as a pencil cup I found these gorgeous vases made in that same style. Such a perfect size for holding flowers in a bathroom or on a nightstand!

FYI, one of my favorite design books, Patina Homes & Gardens, is now half off!

And I also have Valentine’s Day on the mind! I love a cute doormat like this one or this one.

Last week’s best sellers: these well-priced woven boxes and these pretty drinking glasses.

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

It’s cozy season and I’m leaning in! Just ordered these joggers that Nancy Meyers’ daughter has been recommending for a year. I’d been wanting to try them and they’re 30% off now!

Whether you call them half-zip or quarter-zip, this style has taken fashion by storm! And it’s no wonder. They’re versatile, can be dressed up or down, and can be found at every price point.

I love this colorful take on the trend (above), this henley gives a similar look with buttons rather than a zipper, and of course, there’s the viral Varley sweatshirt that’s both cozy and elevated (people rave!)

Not to be left out, sweaters are also utilizing the popular style like this color-block half zip sweater and this sporty zip up.

I’m really craving some color in my sneaker wardrobe. All of mine are white which I do love, but it’s so nice to have a pop of color during these gray winter days. Love these sneakers in red, this pink pair is adorable, or I may try these Adidas that come in lots of colors (especially partial to the green!)

And though I don’t usually go overboard with Valentine’s wear I saw this heart pattern silk scarf and immediately had to order it! How cute will this be with a white tee and jeans?! Not to mention the fact that it’s real silk and under $25!

Last week’s best sellers: these suede waterproof booties (still on sale) and this adorable color-block cardigan.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Landman has been one of our favorite shows we’ve watched in the last year, and we are finally getting to the 2nd season. If you haven’t seen it, Billy Bob Thornton plays an oil executive during an oil boom in West Texas. Demi Moore also stars as the widow of an oil company owner and wow, does she look amazing! I’m seriously drooling over her wardrobe!

It’s juicy, and always fun, with lots of strong female characters. It’s kind of like a better-acted nighttime soap!

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

My husband got me the Barefoot Contessa Go-To Dinners cookbook and I’ve been perusing to see what I want to make first! I’m a big fan of hers and have several of her older cookbooks, but hadn’t bought a new one in years so I’m excited to try some new recipes.

The Chicken in a Pot with Orzo (above) looks warming and delicious. She also has a Salmon Teriyaki and Broccolini that she calls her go-to weeknight dinner that looks easy!

    Hi Sheila,
Love your blog and the inspo especially with home decor. You mentioned you moved before. Did you post pictures of your new place, especially the kitchen? I didn’t see it when I looked through everything. I love to get my inspiration from your choices as we have very similar tastes.
Thank you in advance for your response. Have a great week!

    1. Hi Michele and thanks so much for your kind words! We did move but I haven’t done the full reveal of the new house yet. However, you can see quite a bit of the kitchen in our Christmas tour (link is below). I’ll be sharing the full house tour in the coming weeks!

    Hey Shiela,

Follow your Friday Favs and hoping you will reply.

I’m starting to plan a new whole house paint color that will lean very French Chic. Have white ceilings and am strongly considering Benjamin Moore White Dove. Have you used this color and did you like the results.

    Thanks a million !
    Kathy

    1. Hi Kathy! How exciting that you’re repainting – love that! And yes, White Dove is what I used in the new house. The whole house, including the kitchen cabinets, is White Dove. I also used White Dove in my previous home in the master bedroom and in the living room and dining room when I repainted them 2 years ago.
I love it! It’s a wonderful white. Warm without being yellow. Very popular with designers too!

      Hope that helps! Good luck!
