Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Last week I mentioned we were working on our garage, which continues. Boxes of decor are organized, but now we are working on listing/selling our appliances and furniture. It will really be a treat once that is done as it will free up a lot of room!

And tomorrow I’ll be seeing my daughter, yay! She’s coming to town for a wedding so we’ll have some time to spend with her before that happens. Can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it!

And today is a little bit of a special Friday Favorites! Special, you say? Yes. Because today I’m talking French-inspired everything!

Every once in awhile I like to focus on some of my favorite French or European-inspired pieces and I haven’t done that since last summer. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite French finds, both in fashion and in the home! 🙂

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This home done by Shea McGee might be my favorite she’s ever done! Though not completely French, it has European elements throughout- wait until you see the kitchen! 

A few of my favorite French-inspired items for the home:

This bookcase is gorgeous with great reviews.

This farmhouse dining table is similar to the one from my previous house and is a steal at this price!

We bought this end table for the new house – it’s a great size and I love the finish.

I added these stunning table lamps to the primary bedroom and love them!

I’ve been dying to add a topiary to the kitchen but couldn’t find any live ones at this time of year, so when I saw this little olive topiary in a local boutique I plucked it up! My husband thinks every faux plant or flower I’ve ever bought looks fake, and he commented on how real it looks! (it comes in 3 sizes, mine is the small and I put it in this pot)

Or bring a pop of cheer into any space with this faux lemon topiary that is now 70% off!! So adorable.

This handled basket is utterly charming, and this laundry basket looks like a French vintage one!

 

For a European feel in the kitchen:

This bread basket looks like a European antique! (just ordered)

It’s hard to find a well-priced copper kettle and this one is finally back in stock!

These linen tea towels are one of my favorite things ever! They’re so darling and wash like a dream. 

A European-inspired kitchen has to have a salt cellar and this glass one is cute and priced well.

Last week’s best sellers: this adorable Valentine’s themed platter (still on sale!) and these bamboo drawer dividers, and this Julep vase was the best seller of the whole month!

 

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

And since we’re on the subject, is there anything chicer than a French woman? They have a simple and understated style that I just love. I’m sharing a few things that I think really capture that essence and/or that I’ve recently brought home and love.

French-inspired fashion finds:

This striped sweater feels like a French classic – I love everything about it!

This pretty blouse has a great drape about it

I’m loving how chic this cropped button down is!

French women have always worn neck scarves, but now the trend has hit stateside per Who, What, Wear, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Love this skinny silk scarf (I make it smaller by wrapping it around twice) and Ann Taylor has all theirs on sale right now. Love both this one and this one!

A friend of mine swears by these ballet flats (on sale) as the most comfortable flat ever.

For French women a leather or suede jacket is a must-have, especially for the shoulder seasons. This suede jacket is so chic and this faux leather jacket is so great for the price!

This suede bag is the prettiest color and perfect for spring through fall!

If you’re in the market for a trench coat, this one is an amazing price in a classic style.

Last week’s best sellers: these cute and colorful sneakers (love!) and this classic white button down (a French basic!), and this jewelry cleaner was the best seller of the whole month!

 

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

Last weekend we watched the movie Song, Sung, Blue and I was so pleasantly surprised! I knew the music would be good (Kate Hudson was just nominated for an Oscar for the role) but I was blown away by how wonderful the whole story was!

It was touching, uplifting, and life-affirming in the best way! Highly recommend.

 

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

This Chicken Dijon looks amazing – and easy!

Also, I’ve been wanting a new French cookbook for awhile now and after some research settled on French at Heart and so far I love it! It’s by the authors of The Cook’s Atelier. And it’s so pretty it can be displayed on the counter. 🙂
