Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Happy March! How is the weather where you are? We’re finally getting multiple sunny days and I’m soaking it in!
This past week we met with a landscape designer to try to figure out what to do with our backyard. Right now it consists of gorgeous old oak trees and lots of weeds, and that’s pretty much it! I have some ideas but because it’s so much bigger than our previous tract home yard, it’s pretty intimidating. I will say just meeting with her got me so excited to start!
We also have existing garden beds here (also overrun with weeds!) and I can’t wait to get going. I’m dying to clean out the garden, plant flowers in my pots, and spend some time outside. And we spring ahead this weekend, yay!
And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

Love everything about this charming Cape Cod home!
I love to refresh the porch for spring! Take out the dead plants, dust everything off, and plant pretty flowers. Another way to make everything feel fresh? Add a new doormat! This scalloped doormat might be the cutest one ever, and this popular one is 30% off now at McGee & Co.!
More great sale finds at McGee: this stunning outdoor table – love it and it’s 60% off! I’ve been eyeing this lovely table lamp (40% off) for awhile now, and this coffee table is a great price (30% off) for solid oak!
These weathered rustic vases are one of my favorite things at PB and they’re on sale! I have and love both sizes!
I saw this woven rattan tray in person at Target and it’s good! Looks way more expensive than it is and even the ‘medium’ is a generous size!
This lined wicker basket is one of my favorites! It looks beautiful in the laundry room while also being practical and versatile.
A pretty ruffled edge terracotta planter for a great price? Yes, please!
Last month’s best sellers: this pretty floral bowl (Nancy Meyers-inspired!), these wicker dining chairs, this well-priced ottoman (love!), and my favorite mattress pad!
THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

Loving the idea of a baby blue handbag for spring! It’s perfect for spring as it plays well with denim, white, black, and brown. Loving both this stunning suede bag and this leather shoulder bag.
Love a linen sweater – the drape is so elegant and the weight is perfect for spring! This one is pretty in pink, as is this chic short sleeve version I just ordered.
This little eyelet blouse is so charming (25% off)! I especially love the brown but it comes in 3 colors.
This long sleeve tee with pretty lace detail feels like Doên for under $50! A great staple for spring!
This suede wedge is perfection! Neutral, versatile, and such a good price! Love.
I’m a big fan of J.Crew jeans, and this week a couple of my faves are on sale! These trouser jeans are super flattering and 20% off, and this new kickout style (above – under $100!) is so chic!
Last month’s best sellers: this adorable gingham raincoat (40% off) was the number one seller of the month! You also loved these suede loafers, this lovely faux shearling coat, and these flattering wide-leg jeans (love!)
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

I absolutely love stand-up comedy, but I sometimes find it hard to find comedians I love. But then a friend turned me on to Ryan Hamilton! We watched his Netflix special and I found him funny and charming. And I’m happy to note that he’s opening for Jerry Seinfeld on his current tour – hoping to score tickets.
I’ve followed him on Instagram too and some mornings I’ll purposely go to him or Jim Gaffigan just to start the day with some laughter. It’s good for the soul. 🙂
I would love to hear about any comedians you love!
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

Last year I set out to start baking again, but sadly it never really happened. Between moving and then having no kitchen for two months, I really lost my love for it. But I’m determined to get back into it, so today I thought I’d share some of our favorite chocolate desserts!
This Chocolatiest Chocolate Banana Bread (above) I shared on the blog a couple of years ago is out-of-this-world good (my husband requests it)! Last year I made these Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies that are a dupe for the viral Levain cookies in NYC and they are amazing. This Chocolate Hazelnut Tart is a favorite for dinner parties because it’s very easy to make and delicious (if you can’t access it there you can also find it here). And for a classic chocolate cake, I turn to Ina Garten’s Beatty’s Chocolate Cake. Everyone loves it!
RANDOM THOUGHTS

Because I’ve had garden planning on my mind, I’ve been pinning and perusing Instagram for inspiration. Recently found this landscape designer on IG and fell in love with his work!

Landscaping is so important to curb appeal. I think gardens add beauty and show attention to detail. I live where most people have gardens so the odd house that just has grass looks so plain. I went through all the Veranda suggestions and have checked all the boxes. You won’t be disappointed in hiring a professional landscaper. They have the vision but I’m sure you’ll have some input too. I look forward to seeing the plans.
Couldn’t agree more! And this property is big!! We’ll see how much we can afford – might have to do it in ‘stages’!
Thanks for stopping by Joanna!
