Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

As you read this I am in Chicago visiting my daughter! I’m excited to be seeing her and doing all the touristy stuff. Even though I’ve been here twice before, they were both quick visits with an emphasis on other things so I feel like there’s a lot I just haven’t seen. Plus, we have many great foodie restaurants booked which always makes me happy! 🙂
And now, let’s talk Friday Favorites!

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR

This new-to-me designer does beautiful work! See the rest of this home here.
Though I haven’t started decorating for fall yet, of course I’ve been looking around for things for the Fall Decor Shop and starting to plan. This week I picked up this yummy smelling pumpkin candle. Anthropologie’s candles (their own line) are across the board good, and always priced well, too. Nothing will get me in the mood for fall faster than a delicious pumpkin candle burning!
I’ve been eyeing this stunning vase at McGee for over a year, but the price tag had me pausing. But then I found this vase by the same maker in just a slightly different shape for much less! (another good shape here).
I continue to be (trying) to furnish/finish the rest of the house and one thing I’m looking for are coffee tables. I need to replace both of the ones we currently have, and I also want to go with a darker wood this time. I fell in love with this one but sadly, square won’t work for me in this house (but one of you should get it – it’s so good!). A few I’m considering: this table, this slightly lighter one, or this iron table – not sure how I feel about iron but it’s the perfect size.
I love this gorgeous wicker jug (30% off) that literally works for every season – wouldn’t it be pretty with fall blooms or branches spilling out?
This little travertine trinket bowl (50% off now) would be perfect in an entry way, on top of a stack of books, or on a nightstand.
Not sure if I shared this life-changing mattress pad with you before, but it must be mentioned! I first heard about it from Nancy Meyers’ daughter on Instagram but then a friend told me she had bought it so I knew I had to try it. And it is worth the hype. Truly makes your bed feel like you’re at the Four Seasons!
And while we’re on the subject of great Amazon finds, I get my down-filled pillow inserts there. They come in multiple sizes and are reasonably priced. Love them.
Last week’s best sellers: the cutest bathmat ever and an adorable and affordable pillow.
THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING

I’ve been looking for some new jackets (this is what happens when you leave So Cal where you don’t need them!), and now I’ve found so many good ones, I may be sharing them from now until Christmas!
Some favorites: this houndstooth bomber is darling and looks way more expensive than it is, I love this neutral bomber jacket (so versatile), and this cropped barn coat is so chic!
Love this elevated sweatshirt that’s comfy yet stylish.
A few great mid-size brown leather bags for fall: saw someone share this Toteme t-lock bag dupe this week and I have to say, I’m intrigued! Also love this beautiful braided bag and this simple bag reminds me of Coach.
I’m completely smitten with this denim midi-dress (above)! It looks so flattering, and could be worn now as well as in the fall with a sweater thrown over. Love.
I love dark rinse jeans for fall, and lucky me, they are very in this year! Just ordered this cute wide leg pair (30% off)!
Last week’s best sellers: this pretty pointelle cardigan and these woven flats I own and love!
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING

We have not talked podcasts in soo long! And since I don’t really have any new shows (send some, please!) it seems like a good time! 😉
Some recent favorites I’ve loved:
Sea of Lies – a story about a Canadian con man that is literally jaw dropping.
Beth’s Dead – a top favorite with an ending that surprised me.
Love Trapped (above) – Addicting and unbelievable. I got my husband into it and he loved it too. A great binge.
Good Hang – interview show hosted by Amy Poehler that brings a smile to my face. A good, upbeat listen.
THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING

Peaches and nectarines are my absolute favorite fruit – I will eat literally anything involving them! Besides adding them to my morning yogurt and afternoon salads, I love this Sheet Pan Hot Honey Chicken & Peaches and this Cinnamon Oat Peach Crisp is a family favorite.
I’m also dying to try this Peach Crumble Slab Pie (above) – it looks amazing!

Sheila,
Continue to look forward to your email each week. I wanted to mention that we purchased a new bed from Saatva (which we really like!) and I ended up finding a mattress pad that’s all cotton and think it’s a great find. A little more costly for a king sized bed than I had spent in the past. It’s by Downright Linens in New York. I bought it online. Check it out.
Barb
Hi Barb and thank you! We actually need a new bed and Saatva is in the running so I’m glad to hear you like it! And thanks for the mattress pad tip – I will check it out.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sheila
Hi Sheila,
I look forward to your Friday Favorites every week. Thank you! If you are looking for a new show you should check out Lioness on Paramount. There are three seasons. I watched the first three episodes in one night. It is that good. It stars Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana.
Thank you Ashley! And I am looking for a show! Funny enough that’s one of the ones on my list so I’m happy to hear that you liked it so much. I will try it!
Happy Friday! 🙂
