Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

We had 3 days of rain this week and though I wouldn’t say I’m chomping at the bit for fall, between that and writing this week’s post about a French-inspired Fall, it did get me more in the mood!
Are you going away for the long weekend? We are decidedly here and I couldn’t be more thrilled! After being out of town two weekends in a row and then sick last week, I’m excited to have plans here in town (and make up for lost time). We’ll be seeing some neighbors, doing some wine tasting, as well as exploring the coast/beach area which we haven’t done yet (and we have sun so that’s good!) And it’s our anniversary and we’re having dinner at Auberge du Soleil in Napa which I’m very, very excited about!
And there might just be some couch shopping, too! 😉

THINGS I’M LOVING IN DESIGN/DECOR
Really love the pretty touches in this kitchen remodel.
McGee & Co. is a favorite store and since they only have about three sales a year, I like to take advantage! I’ve been eyeing this harvest basket ever since it appeared a month ago and was waiting for a sale! How cute would it be as a centerpiece filled with flowers or fruit? I’m in love with these transferware platters (so perfect for fall), it doesn’t get any prettier than this fall wreath, I love these napkins for Thanksgiving, and my absolute favorite linen checked tea towels are part of the sale (I’m always stocking up!) along with the matching double oven mitt.
This chunky handknit throw from PB is a favorite and is now on clearance for 60% off!
These glass pumpkins with pressed florals are so pretty and 30% off right now. So unique! (smaller size here).
I know it may not be planting season, but my favorite Bergs pots are on sale at Magnolia so I had to share. Not only is every size back in stock but they are 20% off. If you love them as I do, stock up! They don’t typically come around again until next spring. Also on sale is the oversized wicker vase I own and love (similar to McGee for a fraction of the price!), another nice shape on sale here.

THINGS I’M WEARING/WANTING
Lots on sale this week at J.Crew! Love, love, love this layered wool cardigan (40% off)! Simple and chic – reminds me of Vince. Also love the Jackie cardigan and it’s 40% off (or more) in all the colors, this versatile short-sleeve sweater (40% off) is so cute and get great reviews, and this suede belt (40% off) is perfection ( just ordered).
J.Crew’s classic trench that I have and love is back and 40% off, and I love the matchstick jeans (above – now under $100!)! Funny story. Waaay back when skinnies had first come out I was quite resistant and my compromise was the J.Crew matchstick jeans because they weren’t as skinny as their “toothpick” jeans, haha! They’re a great slim-straight style.
Mango is having 30% off everything! This cropped suede jacket is super buttery (bought it last year), also love this stunning suede jacket!
And one of my favorite PJs are now on sale for over 35% off with the code! If you get hot these are a must – the fabric keeps you very cool. They also have lots of other pajamas and lounge wear on sale, too.
I bought the this woven flat in cream in the spring and love them! They’re so comfortable and I’ve worn them a ton so thinking of getting them in the saddle for fall. Also love the woven suede in brown!
In my continuing battle to fight the crepey skin starting to come to my arms, I’m now using two new (to me) products. I’m alternating between this retinol lotion and this lotion containing lactic acid every other day. This was recommended by a dermatologist I follow on Instagram and I have to say, it’s the first time I’ve really seen a change!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING
Ina Garten has a podcast coming!! I’ve mentioned how much I love her most recent show because it’s kind-of a mix of talking/interviewing with just a little cooking. I always thought she was so good at it – she’s such a natural – so this really doesn’t shock me. But I am thrilled! It’s called Happy Hour with Ina (even the name is good!) It will stream on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts. It debuts September 16th. Can. Not. Wait.

THINGS I’M EATING/DRINKING
Until this week we were still making more summery meals, but once the rain hit, we had to pivot! Some family favorites we made this week were: these Pork Chops with Maple Apples (above) which I shared on the blog a couple of years ago!
And two we love from Ina and have made hundreds of times – Turkey Meatloaf and Chicken Thighs with Creamy Mustard Sauce.

And did I mention that Annie Meyers-Shyer (Nancy Meyers’ daughter) has her first book coming out? If you follow her on Instagram then you know that she is a veritable encyclopedia of design advice and info and I can’t wait for it to arrive! (you can pre-order here for delivery when it’s released in a couple weeks). She’s finally been sharing a few images from the book this week (like above) and suffice it to say, you can tell Nancy is her mother!
