Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, shows, recipes, fashion finds and more! And though it won’t all be French, some of it definitely will!
My husband left town today for a week so I’ve got a whole roster of bachelorette activities planned. No, not any partying or bar hopping, haha. Bachelorette = lots of design shows, Pinterest and magazine perusing, along with no cooking and maybe some antiquing and walking with friends. Oh and of course, some online shopping! In other words, heaven!
Now let’s get onto Friday Favorites, where I share everything from a great decor find, to a favorite movie, recipe, or podcast, to a wonderful thing to wear – anything that strikes me as interesting or fun or that you might love, too! 😉
THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR
This beautiful kitchen is just one part of this gorgeous new home.
I talked about winter decor a couple of weeks ago but I’m not sure I mentioned my infatuation with greens. First of all, I love the color green. And for me, it’s such a great color for winter in particular. I’ve added a few new throw pillows to the mix until I’m ready for the blues of spring. This gorgeous green velvet beauty (on sale) looks great with this neutral or this one, which also looks great with this gorgeous pattern and this pattern. I love them all so much I’m going to have a hard time deciding what to keep!
I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that I love the work of Studio McGee. The McGee & Co website has gorgeous things and I’ve shared many of them here, but to get the look for less you really need to check out their line for Target! And…. their spring line debuts this weekend!
I’m not kidding when I say things sell out fast. Every season I’ve missed quite a few things because I haven’t been on top of it. Today I’m sharing what I love from the new spring collection. Some of it is already online, but the full line drops on January 23rd (this Sunday). But this is the thing – you can favorite (click the little heart) any item you like so that it’s already saved and then when it’s available, you won’t have to go searching for it again!
So here are the items I love from the new line and am excited to see and/or buy. Her rugs are always gorgeous and this blue one is no exception (sure to sell out). This lamp was released last week and is already sold out online – what did I tell you?? But it’s still available for pick up if there’s one in your area, same with this gorgeous bowl. Studio McGee always does really cute artwork and the prints sell out super fast (some of her older ones are on Ebay for 3x the price!)
Also love this pillow, these cute baskets look more expensive then they are, as does this unique wicker vase. This would look gorgeous with the green pillows above so you can bet this is going in my cart. And this chair is probably the thing I’m most excited to try! I’m also loving the European feel of this new outdoor line and you can bet it will sell out super fast! You can see the whole spring collection here.
THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING
So I’ve always been a ‘skinny jeans’ kinda gal. And don’t get me wrong, I still am. But, I’m a big jeans person (as in I wear them almost everyday) so lately, I’ve been feeling like I need a little change. I’m currently in the market for a straight or slim pair that’s still flattering! I ordered these after I saw them on a blogger friend. I also ordered these, these (that price!), and these, and I’m eyeing these and these in case none of those work out! And have you ever tried this brand? I have a friend who swears by them!
And I know I’ve talked booties here for a couple of months now, but I’ve finally found the perfect pair! Seriously so comfy, low heel (which for me is essential for a casual shoe) and under $100 – yay! I bought the gray and already wore and loved them, but I also adore the tan!
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO
Downtown Abbey is one of my all-time favorite shows and now the creator and writer of that show has a new one coming that I’m super excited about. It’s called The Gilded Age and comes out on Monday! Seriously. Can’t. Wait. (and if for some reason you never saw Downtown Abbey, you have to start it now!)
We also just started a new for us show called Peaky Blinders. It’s another British show (I love them all!) and takes place in Birmingham, England in 1919. Great acting and writing.
THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING
I’m always trying to find new ways to incorporate vegetables in our diet, and I’ve found that they are especially delicious when roasted! These Roasted Winter Vegetables and this Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower are two favorites of ours. Now I want to try these Tuscan Roasted Potatoes with Lemon and this Parmesan Roasted Zucchini.

Sheila, Thanks for these wonderful “Friday Favorites”. You always find the most beautiful items. I saw the jeans from Banana Republic and ended up buying 12 other items while on the website. Would have never done that on my own. You have a great eye and are so down to earth. Thanks, Carolyn
Oh my gosh – thank you Carolyn! I so appreciate you saying that and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series! (I love writing it and sharing with you all!)

How do I find out pricing on some of the items here
Any item you’re interested in, just click on the highlighted link. If it’s the Target items, as I mentioned some of them don’t go live until Sunday so you’ll need to save them on the Target site (click the ‘heart’ icon) or simply go back Sunday morning to purchase!Everything else the price can be found from the link to the store.
Hope that helps!
