Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

It was tax day for us this past week – never anyone’s favorite day! Between days of paperwork and my husband stressing and sweating (always!) it was a bit crazy. But yay for being done and not having to do them for another year, right?

Between all the organizing, I shared a post full of new French farmhouse finds. Read all about French Farmhouse Finds at Wayfair here.

And now onto Friday Favorites – we’re sharing lots of pretty spring decor and fashion finds this week!

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

Love this pretty kitchen (that fridge!) See the whole tour here.

Since spring is imminent outdoors, I’m ready to bring it indoors as well. My favorite way is to add plants in new planters, and of course, flowers (both fresh and faux!) in pretty vases.

Totally crushing on this gorgeous floral vase! as well as this pretty one. I love the vintage-look of these terracotta planters and have several of them, and I just ordered these from Pottery Barn that I’m super excited about – they look oh-so-French! And I’m a huge fan of planter baskets and these are especially cute. Also adore this concrete basket planter (comes in 3 sizes).

My favorite faux florals are tulips because they tend to look so real! I have these tulips and just saw these at a friends’ house. Afloral is a new source for me and I love their selection. This lilac is gorgeous, as is this cherry blossom. And these cherry blossoms are my favorite – more of an investment but gorgeous!

And if you’re already thinking patio furniture like me, be sure to order early! I hesitated last year and the set I wanted was sold out by May! I love this set at PB and I’ve been eyeing this one at Walmart. The Walmart set has great reviews and sells out every year, and I have several blogging friends who have it and love it – and you gotta love that price! These new outdoor swivel chairs would be perfect for a porch or small sitting area. And how cute is this outdoor tray

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

I’m ready for spring in my closet too! This adorable floral blouse caught my eye (comes in tons of patterns) and this Swiss dot top is so cute! These flat sandals are a great dupe for the more pricey Hermès ones, these flats are a little dressier, love this fun mid-heel as well as this cute rattan one

And a long-time favorite of mine is gingham – it’s so crisp and fresh and perfect for spring! I own and love this gingham shirt (on major sale!), this swing-y blazer (30% off) could not be cuter, and this window pane blouse is so versatile. All of these would look amazing with a great white jean! These are my favorite basic skinnies, love this cropped version, these are a great basic (and get great reviews) and these are a great price!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

Just finished a real page turner by a young first-time author called Falling. And it’s going to be a movie – love when that happens!

We also finally watched the movie Coda last weekend. Loved it so much! It’s sweet and touching and life-affirming, something there is way too little of these days. So far my favorite Oscar nominees were King Richard, Belfast and Coda. In fact, I can’t remember a year where I’ve seen as many nominees as I have this year, or liked as many!

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

I made this delicious Lemon Cheesecake this week. It’s perfect for Easter or any spring gathering, shower, or even Mother’s Day.

Another spring favorite is this Lemon Poundcake with Citrus Glaze (seriously so easy and beyond delicious!) as well as this Skillet Roasted Lemon Chicken.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

This adorable potting shed has me so ready for spring gardening!

Love this inexpensive Easter egg hack.

And though I try to stay positive here on the blog and not bring in the ugliness of the world we live in, I’ve been utterly overwhelmed with shock and sadness at what’s happening in the Ukraine. If like me you’re looking for ways to help and aren’t sure where to start, I shared on Instagram some charities that are reputable and doing work on the ground, especially focused on helping women and children. Read about those on my Instagram story highlights here.

And stay tuned in the next week for both my first spring tour as well as a pretty Easter table!

Happy Friday!

  1. Hi! Love your blog and your Friday finds, what great inspiration. Do you have suggestions for table lamps both in the living room and master bedroom?

    1. Hi and thanks so much Lara! If you’re shopping online, I would start with Wayfair. They have a huge selection and good prices, plus an easy return policy. And I love the Kelly Clarkson line! Here’s a link to her line and you can look at any lamps she has there. But you can also just go to the lighting section and put in any filters you want, size, etc which makes it easy to search.

Hope that helps and good luck!

  2. Thank you for informing us about charitable companies to donate to for Ukraine relief. I sent a donation to World Central Kitchen.

    1. You are so welcome Marlene! And I’m sure they appreciate your donation. I also donated to several of the charities I listed and may do more before this is over. Praying for peace.

  3. Sheila,
I recently made your Chocolate Banana Bread (posted in an earlier email), and it’s wonderful! I find that it is best warm, right from the oven. So when eating it after it has cooled, I warm a slice for 10 – 15 seconds in the MW. I like to serve it with a dollop of homemade creme fraiche. Delish!
    Thanks for the recipe!
