Friday Favorites: Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, movies, podcasts, fashion finds and more! And though it won’t all be French, some of it definitely will! 

 

 

We’re back this week with another installment in my favorite series, Friday Favorites. Since we still have a few more weeks of summer, I’m hanging on with everything I’ve got! Summer tops, summer food, summer books, and of course, some good design ideas, too. Welcome to August!

This is where I share everything from a great decor find, to a favorite movie, recipe, or podcast, to a wonderful thing to wear – anything that strikes me as interesting or fun or that you might love, too! 😉

 

 

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

This kitchen transformation is soo good! Wait until you see the before!

 

I’m totally crushing on wicker demijohns! If you’ve been following for awhile now, you know I wrote a blog post all about French demijohns, but the ones I have are just glass. The ones I’m loving lately are the wicker wrapped ones. They’re full of texture and so charming – and they’ll look so good in the newly accessorized builtins. 😉

 

I’m always on the lookout for great linen tea towels at reasonable prices. I found these on Amazon and I love the cute blue stripe!

 

And continuing with my basket obsession, how cute is this one??! Seriously have to get this – it would look cute anywhere!

 

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

We just started watching the new show The White Lotus. Have you seen it? It’s such a great show – funny and engaging, with cutting edge writing and social satire, too. 

 

And I’m diving into some summer ‘beach reads’ while I still can! If you haven’t read Jennifer Weiner she’s written a lot of great ones. I just finished Big Summer which is as it sounds, a perfect summer book. And I’m currently in the middle of Mrs. Everything. 

 

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

I’m having a thing for lightweight, breezy cotton tops – all in white. Love this one, have this one, this one is in my cart, and this one is so reasonable!

 

Leopard print is a favorite of mine and this slide is my favorite thing I’ve bought in a long time! 🙂

 

Some of you have been asking for me to share more of my beauty regimen! I’ve been a big fan of Retinol products and have been using them since my early 20s. I use prescription Retin-A, but this and this are over the counter, gentle and give similar results.

I also am a huge believer in using a Vitamin C product for it’s antioxidant, anti-aging properties. I just starting using the cult favorite Skinceuticals. It’s pricey, but I’m loving the results. Prior to this, I used this product for years and it’s good, too. I would say the Skinceuticals is better, but this is a good alternative for less $!

 

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

For me some foods are quintessentially summer, and corn is one of them. We’ve been enjoying a lot of it while it’s in season. We love this Corn and Tomato Salad, this Corn on the Cob with Cheese and Lime, and this Creamed Corn is transcendent (and it’s nothing like the canned stuff!)

 

Also, if you love mojitos as much as I do, this Watermelon Mojito is beyond delicious and oh-so-summery!

 

RANDOM THOUGHTS

If you love food and cooking (and eating!) this blog has the most amazing recipes – and her photos are drool-worthy!

 

We got super into puzzles last year during lockdown, and the passion has continued. It’s such a fun thing to do as a family, and it makes me feel like we’re on vacation at a lake house – even when we’re not!

This dog one is so cute that we did last year, everything in this line is beautiful, and I’m thinking I need this Paris scene version for our next one. 😉

And I’ve been dreaming of travel and can’t wait to get back to Europe. I haven’t been to Paris since my honeymoon so it will be one of the first places we go. We’re also dying to go to Prague and Vienna. Where are you dreaming of??
