Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration
Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!
Hi friends and Happy Friday! Hope you all had a lovely long weekend full of rest and relaxation! We spent some time by our pool and at the beach, and it was heaven.
I’ve got lots of summer tours coming to the blog in the next few weeks, so I’ve been thinking about lightening up my decor for the season. One thing that feels like summer to me? Blue and white! So today I’ll be sharing lots of blue favorites in both home and fashion!
THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR
Are you familiar with the designer Mark D. Sikes? Blue is his signature color and it’s never done better than in his own house. Even his garden is blue! (And by the way, if you don’t have his book ‘Beautiful’ you’re missing out!) Lots of gorgeous inspiration and it makes a beautiful coffee table book – see what I did there? 😉
I don’t go too crazy changing things up for the seasons, but I do like to lighten and brighten for summer and my favorite way to do that is by changing out throw pillows. If you’re loving blue as much as I am, this pillow and this one are stunning, and either would look lovely with this solid linen one.
This ginger jar is a great price (on sale!), as is this little beauty. And this blue rug would be so cute in a kitchen or laundry room!
I also love to change out candles and this one smells like a salty beach day (priced so well!) And why not bring some blues to your outdoor space too? I just ordered this pillow and this one in blue and love them!
You might also want to check out Mark’s new line for Anthropologie. I love this gorgeous runner and these textured candle holders are a great statement on a summer table! You can see the whole line here.
THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING
Totally crushing on all things linen, like this cute striped tee, this perfect summer sweater, these wide-leg pants, and this oh-so-versatile tunic or this cute and comfy dress!
Also how cute is this top (that print!!), I love this sweater tank for summer evenings, and these jeans are about the cutest thing ever!
And slides! I seriously can’t get enough of them for summer! These are an amazing price, as are these! And these ones I shared last week in black come in cream – and they’re on sale (super comfy!)
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO
To me, summer books are in a class all their own. I love curling up with a great mystery by the pool or on the beach. I recently finished The Couple Next Door and loved it (my husband is reading it now!)
A few that I loved from past summers were The Last Thing He Told Me (an all-time favorite!), Gone Girl, and The Mother-in-Law.
THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING
I love the ease of summer food, but I’m also looking for a few new recipes to add to the rotation. How good do these BBQ Salmon Tacos look and this Mango Kale Chopped Salad would make the perfect summer dinner (I’d probably add chicken).

My pleasure Ruth! Happy Friday to you!
Love your four blue ceramic jars next to your white vase filled with white hydrangeas. Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks so much Jeanne!
