Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!
Well as you read this, I’m spending my days lying down trying to recuperate from throwing out my back. And the worst part? It was my own fault. I lifted something too heavy and didn’t think about it and I’m so mad at myself! I’m hoping it will be much better by Monday, but in the meantime, I guess I’ve got lots of time to write the blog and shop online, haha!
And now let’s get on with this week’s Friday Favorites which is full of lots of summery inspiration!
THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR
I’m totally smitten with this European-style kitchen – those lights!! See the whole space here.
I’m kind of all about my outdoor space right now, from the furniture to planters, to having the perfect items for summer hosting. (I’ve been pinning inspiration photos like crazy!) And with the Fourth coming up, what could be a better time to get your outdoors ready for entertaining?
Outdoor Entertaining Finds: I’ve been wanting a cute beverage dispenser for awhile now and the price of this one can’t be beat! I love this terracotta party bucket (such great European style!) and these string lights are on our patio and still going strong.
And if you’re hosting the Fourth (or just want to fly your flag!), you can’t go wrong with these adorable plates or these cute star napkins, and I’m totally smitten with these burlap flags, wreath, and flag banner (love the vintage vibe!) All of these patriotic pieces are on sale.
THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING
This sweater tank (35% off) is the perfect summer top, it could go from shopping, to dinner, to the beach. (I bought it in tan and now ordered it in the navy!)
If you prefer your tanks in linen, you can’t go wrong with this one (1/3 off and comes in 11 colors!) Need a dress for a summer wedding or just for evenings out? This looks so flattering and feminine and pretty!
Have I ever shared how crazy I am for cropped, flare jeans? They are so chic and perfect for summer (I find the cropped aspect to be much cooler than a full length jean). Love the color of this pair, love the buttons on these (on sale!) and these white ones are a steal (and perfect for summer!)
THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO
I know I’m probably an exception when I share this, but I love shows about chefs. Not just cooking or food shows (though I love those, too) but shows about the chefs behind the shows or restaurants.
For years I watched Chefography on Food Network (it’s no longer made but if you happen upon it, it’s great!) and now I just got turned onto Chef’s Table. How has this been on for 6 seasons and I never discovered it?? Now blowing through them!!
Another oldie-but-goodie is Spain: On the Road Again. I have no idea if it’s findable but it’s soo good! Much like the show Bobby and Giada in Italy, Mario Batali, Mark Bittman, and Gwyneth Paltrow travel around Spain and eat and talk food. Both of these shows have amazing scenery!
THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING
And since things have really heated up here, I’ve been dying to make some yummy, slushy, cooling cocktails this weekend!
This Strawberry Gin Cocktail is a little sweet and a little creamy, yet surprisingly light and refreshing. It’s a pleasant surprise!
Jenny Martin is one of my favorite designers to follow on Instagram.
How to Make a Boxwood Topiary – dying to try this!
And I’m obsessed with this lip balm/sunscreen! It gives just a hint of subtle, sheer color while protecting your lips from getting burned. Perfect for a pool, beach or boating day. (I have it in the Rose and the Honey, but it also comes in a clear balm).
